Mark:

I'm going over to Jacks for a surprise visit for a week, I hope he's happy to see me!

It's been a year or so since I've seen him and I was starting to miss him and his Irish accent. I've also had a really bad feeling that something was going on with him... nahhh, he's too happy! Right? Yeah. As I board the plane and sit on my seat I smile and think of the warm smile I'll get from Jack. As I think about him I slowly drift off to sleep.....

Before I knew it I was in Ireland, I rushed off the plane, got my bags, and ran to my taxi. I told him Jacks address and off we went. Even though the drive was about 1 hour, it felt longer. When I arrive at the Irish bois house I knocked on the door... no answer? I checked under the doormat and I saw a key. That'd surprise him more if I just walked in! But I don't know if I should.... eh screw it. I unlock the door and walk into his house.

"JAAAAACK!!! GUESS WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?????!!!!!"

No response...? Odd....

I walk around his house yelling his name, I knew he was home because he never leaves the key under his door if he isn't.

I walked into the bedroom, nothing.

Lounge room, nothing.

I smelled something from the bathroom and walked to the bathroom, the door wouldn't budge and I started to worry. I screamed his name over and over. I eventually managed to open the door. I saw Jack in a bathtub filled with red.

 Blood.

He was gone.

No.

I woke up on the plain with an exaggerated gasp. The lady next to me looked at me as if to say, 'what the fuck?' I almost cried. The same fucking dream every time I close my god damn eyes. Why? What the fuck did I do to deserve seeing my best friend dead?!

I put my face in my cupped hands as tears started to form in my eyes. I don't know why but I've been having this dream for months now, one of the main reasons I'm visiting Jack is so I can make sure he's okay. Maybe once I realize he's fine the dreams will stop...

I'm feeling tired as always, but I'm too scared to go back to sleep. So I decide to just relax, there's only an hour or so left of the flight anyway.

Every time my eyes begin to close, I quickly flick them open. I can't risk seeing.... well... y'know....

It feels like an eternity but the flight lands, I pinched myself to make sure this is reality. I take a deep breath and begin to walk off the plane. As soon as I get off the plane I call a cab so by the time I get my bags and get out of the airport it wouldn't be long before the cab arrived. When I eventually pushed my way to the conveyor belt and waited for my bags. I marked them with a pink Mustache so I knew it would be mine! I see them pass by and quickly snatch them before speeding off to where my cab would arrive.

10 minutes later the cab shows up, I sit in the back of the cab and give the driver the money to get me to Jacks place. He must've noticed I was a bit on edge.

"You alright mate?" He asked politely,
"O-Oh! Yeah I'm just a bit anxious to see my friend!"
"Just a friend?" He winks

I blushed, psh, as if I'd like Jack as more than a friend... that'd never happen!

"Y-Yes of course! He and I have been friends for a while now! It's just that I haven't seen himin a while."
"Ah, righto."

The man had a strong Australian accent, it wasn't as cute as Jacks Irish accent though... I mean...! Not cute....! Uhhh... Strong! Yeah, it wasn't as strong as Jacks....

The cab stopped at Jacks apartment and I quickly stepped out of the vehicle, not before tipping the driver extra for great service, he thanked me.

I watched him drive away before walking up to Jacks apartment, slowly.... I knocked on his door fearing the worst when I hear a familiar Irish voice come from the house.

"Hello? Who's there?"

He opens the door and I immediately hug him and cry.

"Y-You're okay... You're okay!!!!!"
"Yes Mark I'm fine! I have so many questions right now.... just... come inside!!!"

I walked into his house with him and I shut the door behind me. He was wearing a black hoodie and skinny jeans. He looked at me with his big puppy eyes and smiled.

"I was hoping to see you Mark! I had a weird feeling you might show up."

I smile and laugh softly.

"Mark, why were you so worried..?"

My smile faded and it was then I realized I would have to tell him.... I sighed and began telling him about the dream that kept recurring, day after day, night after night....

As I was telling him, his facial expressions changed from shocked, to sad, to worried. When I finished telling him he looked down at the floor.

"Mark...."

He pulled me in for a hug.

"That'll never happen, I promise. I'm fine!"

I smiled as I felt his chest against me and his arms wrapped around me. The words I wanted to hear escape his mouth, I wanted them to escape with sincerity and promise. *I'm fine*
