A few hours earlier

As Elijah had left Tyler stared down his mate refusing to let him go to the teen that had recently entered his town. 

"You best let me and my pack through hybrid freak", Derek had spat out. To say that those words hurt was and understatement. As they weren't from just one of his friends they came flying out of his mates mouth. And as much as Derek knew he regretted those words being said he still believed stiles was his only one and wasn't about to let a so called mate block him from saving what he believed to be his true mate from a blood thirsty vampire. If only Derek had believed stiles back in beacon hills. Stiles and his dad would have never left him and the pact. 

Drawing him from his thoughts were whimpers from Tyler. Who was in pain from his mate calling him a freak. Before Derek could think of anything else he shifted into his Alpha form and knocking Tyler over as he caught sent of the vamp and where he went. All that ran through Derek's head was he needed to get to stiles. He truly doesn't even remember what happened. All he knows is he can hear muffled voices all around him.

"Well you can't hurt him. As much as I hate him right now he is my mate Severus.", Tyler pleaded with the man clad in black. 

"Tyler is right dad. I can only imagine what it would feel like to feel ur true mate in pain. And as much as it disgust me to see him here after what he had done to me and to our family I don't want to see another person go through it", Stiles spoke up. Elijah smiled softly at his mate. Happy to know his mate had a kind heart even after being hurt. 

"Well fine hes lucky but next time he pulls that on us I will shove mounds of wolfsbane down his throat. Also Tyler spell doesn't last long he will…." Before he could finish his sentence Derek shifted back to his human form and stood up.

"And may I ask what the fuck just happens!?" Derek questioned the man in Black. Severus just sneered at him and if it weren't for Tyler or his son he would have enjoyed using the Cruciatus Curse on him. 

"Well you barged in here and attack Uncle Severus here Derek all for someone who isn't even your true soulmate when clearly your true soulmate is hurting watching you do this and not realizing he is here in front of you",Lydia explained as she popped out of no where.

Derek growled at her and because she was in the pack for so long she showed her neck to her old alpha. 

"Stiles is the only mate I need. He does not belong to the blood sucking leech and the hybrid freak is clearly not my mate.", Derek managed to growl out. Elijah then pulled Stiles closer to him and out of Derek's site. 

Severus clicked his tongue realizing something that no one else noticed. And as if reading his mind Elijah,Jackson and Damon(whom everyone forgot was still here) jumped for Derek. Tyler screamed out in worry for his mate.
