Now Dean had an idea of who Castiel was; plus he knew the male's scent by heart. He could easily pick it out from hundreds of different smells combined, and he no longer had to be at the office to smell the other wolf.

Dean could smell the younger man all over himself, though they never touched. They only sat together at lunch and waved their goodbyes in the afternoon-- but his scent was prominent out of the plethora of scents that were soaked up by the fabric of the Winchester's suit jacket.

As he drove to work, he gladly took in Castiel's scent, not even phased that he was being creepy; he hadn't washed the suit the night before just so he'd keep the scent of the other wolf with him at all times. "You're not gay," he told himself, "you're just not used to smelling other wolves."

As Dean entered the building he found himself tracking Castiel's scent all the way to the break room. There sat Cas, laughing at some mediocre guy, making heart eyes at the fellow. Dean mentally coaxed himself, 'you are way better looking than that guy'-- and somehow, the Winchester found himself butting in on their conversation.

"What's so funny?" The Alpha asked, Castiel looking between the two suitors, biting his lip. Dean adored the way Cas chewed on the raised, pink flesh when he was in thought. 'Only because it's cute when everybody does it, you aren't gay'.

"Nothing, really... Jackson was only telling me a few classic jokes. Corny things, really..." The Omega's voice shook as he became embarrassed, his feelings for Dean were overwhelmingly obvious, and the Alpha couldn't be any more oblivious to them if he tried-- but Castiel knew they were there, and could no longer ignore the thump of his heart whenever the other wolf was near.

"Oh, yeah.. I bet I'm cornier!" The Winchester made it a challenge now, nudging Jackson aside. He couldn't think of anything-- something about Cas rendered him speechless.

---

Walking Castiel to his office was a task that Dean hadn't anticipated being so difficult. The scent of the Omega was beginning to flood every inch of the Alpha's being, causing serious problems when he tried to process thoughts or even function around the younger man.

Cas seemed to have troubles of his own, sweating profusely. "When's the full moon?" He asked as they stalked through the hall, side by side.

"Soon, are you... In heat?"

"What? No!"

"Oh, man. You are. Your hips are going to spread for birth. Your body wants to make babies, you know?"

"Fuck off, I know what this is like..." The sudden anger on Castiel's half was the thing that assured Dean that the heat had started for the Omega, which meant his own heat would be soon, and he would have to avoid work like the plague...
