"No good friends; no bad friends. Only people you want, need to be with. People who build their houses in your heart." -Stephen King
It was a misty morning. It has rained the day before, so the air was damp, yet not particularly muggy. Dew danced on the grass as I rode down the sidewalk.
The wind tugged at my bangs as I sped down a hill. Alas I rode into the forest, the track becoming far bumpier. Dirt clotted and pressed upwards in the places where my bike faltered on the muddy terrain.
I suddenly pulled the breaks on my bike, coming to a halt. I tossed my bike casually to the ground and peered around a tree to see an opening where the dirt floor faded to stone.
I spotted five (nearly naked) boys, standing over the quarry. I stepped forward into the clearing. I was about to speak up when I heard a sudden crash from behind me.
I turned around and threw up my hands in self defense only to see Beverly Marsh pushing her bike over, which had dramatically clattered to the floor, causing the loud sound.
The boys had all turned in surprise as well. I quickly lowered my hands, embarrassed. "You guys came here together? Awesome, girl on girl!" Richie said loudly.
Stan shot Richie a sharp glare. "Glad you two could make it." He spoke evenly.
I glanced back to Beverly to see her undressing, and I immediately realized what I had agreed to. "Undressing already? It's not even our first date, how forward of you." Richie wiggled his eyebrows at Beverly and Stan smacked him upside the head.
"Beep beep, Richie." Beverly giggled.
"As the lady wishes." Richie bowed curtly just as Stan pushed him into the quarry, done with his fuckery.
Richie screamed in a high-pitched girlish tone as he fell from the cliff. He hit the water, and after a few seconds, he resurfaced. "You bastard, you killed my father!" He yelled dramatically.
Eddie rolled his eyes. One by one the group jumped into the water, first Bev, then Bill, then Stan, then Eddie, then Ben, until finally I was by myself.
I uncomfortably removed the outer layer of clothing I wore, completely unlike the ever so confident Bev. I felt my face burn, although nobody was there to watch.
I held my breath and finally jumped into the water, my eyes squeezed shut. To my surprise, it was actually quite fun. As my head emerged from the water, a slight smile danced on my face.
The others seemed to be organizing a chicken fight. Bev was on Bill's shoulders, and it looked like they were finding Stan a partner. As i watched Bev laughing and messing with Bill's hair I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy.
