Chapter 2
Last day of school… I sigh in relief on that thought. I got dressed in a cute blue floral dress that ties in the back. I curled my hair and put on red lipstick and grabbed my brown leathered messenger bag and before I walked out of the house, I took my mom’s delicious toast that made my morning.
Samantha was already there with her retro sunglasses in her convertible car. I got in the passenger seat and she drove off.
“Nice dress.” She complimented as she stopped when the traffic light was red. “Really explains the ‘Get me out of school, its summer.’ look.” She joked making me giggle.
Sam parked her car and we walked into the hallway together. I am surely not going to miss this place. I looked around and something caught my eye. Daniel was really ‘occupied’ with the girl in the white blouse. She was blonde like Sam but Sam was way prettier than her. Sam was boiling up in anger looking in that direction. Her face was hot red and her eyes twitched a little. I wanted to go there and slapped his face but I guess I can only do that in my head.
Sam marched over to them and they both stopped and the girl in blonde raised an eyebrow then looked at Daniel. Daniel was basically in shock, I guess pretty boy was speechless. Sam put her hands on her hips and glared at Daniel. Everyone in the hallway was staring rudely at three of them and I heard chatter all around the hallway. I stood there in the middle like an idiot, if there is a cat fight, I might have to stop Sam because she has claws.
“You asked me out and now you’re kissing this chick?” She said angrily while pointing at the blonde. The blonde stepped away from Daniel and took a step forward towards Sam.
“He made a good choice to dumb you.” The blonde protested taking a step forward to Sam. “Back off.” The blonde walked back to Daniel forcing him to kiss her but he pushed her back and her face was starting to get red.
“You know what you can have him.” Sam turned back and grabbed my arm and dragged me away.
“Samantha!” Daniel called but Samantha kept walking. As I looked back I saw Daniel yelling at the blonde chick.
I followed Samantha to the girl’s bathroom and I saw her breaking down onto the floor. A tear rolled down her cheek and she started sobbing. I joined her on the floor and pat her back, she needed to let it out, all of it out. I heard the first bell but Sam and I ignored it, I hated it when someone hurts one of my girls.
Kylie came rushing to us and put a hand on Sam’s shoulder. The whole school must have known. I didn’t really care about skipping class because the worst we could get is a detention but to Kylie detention wasn’t one of the worst things ever. Sam cried the whole half period and tried to calm down but she just seems to break down.
“When you guys weren’t present, I knew something was wrong.” Kylie whispered. “The whole class was talking about it, so that’s how I knew that you guys were here, I mean where else would you go?” I shrugged and turned my attention to the girl crying lying against the wall.
We decided to skip school and went to Sam’s house to start our early sleepover. Her dad didn’t care if we skipped our last day of school because he said that they just talked crap. I find it how funny that parents would totally freak out if you ditched but Sam’s dad didn’t. Her dad divorced her mom about 2 years ago and Sam stays at her mom’s every Sunday but this week was optional because Kylie and I were staying.
We walked up to Sam’s room and it was obviously huge. Her walls were cream colour and her bed was an antique six-board chest with floral sheets. A framed picture of all three of us hung on top of her bed. Her study was next to the door and she had a walk-in-closet that was connected to both her room and bathroom.
“Daniel’s an idiot.” Kylie accused angrily and she handed us coke from the vending machines at school and sat on the floor. “I mean who does that.” She took a sip out of her coke. Sam was being awfully quiet.
“Am I really that stupid?” She asked sadly looking down at her coke.
“Sammy, you’re not stupid, he’s an idiot for doing that, you’re beautiful and smart and you deserve better.” I said smiling while touching her shoulder. “Plus, plenty of guys are out there trying to have the guts to ask you out.” I added to make her feel better.
“Okay.” She said standing up and stretching her arms and smiled at us. She looks like she got over him in like a minute. “I call this pity party cancelled, let’s go have some fun.” She pulled me and Kylie up and dragged us downstairs.
We went to the kitchen and got ourselves ice-cream and went back to Sam’s room and talked about other stuff.
“OMG, she seriously did it?” Sam gasps with eyes wide open. “That should be illegal.” Sam’s phone rang and we all were silent. She took a peek at the ID number and she froze there,
“It’s Daniel.”
