Chapter 11

Nico's POV

After I left my father's castle with new orders I quickly shadow traveled to the Big House. Chiron and rest of the War council was already here. Of course none of the gods (other than technically me) were present. When I looked around, I noticed that two people were missing. Reyna, who was still out, leading the quest to destroy telkhines forges. This time, Cyclops refused to side with Zeus and forge his lightning bolts, so he turned to Telkhines. This especially infuriated Poseidon. He demanded every single one of them to be slaughtered. Dude needs to chill a bit. On the other hand, who can blame him. I probably would act the same (or even worse given how tightly I hold grudges), if someone threw my son to the Pit with no escape. 

Other missing person surprised me (and worried) much more. Will. I realized I have no idea what happened to him after I ditched him in the forest. I definitely shouldn't do it. It is his fault though. He dropped this bomb on me. If anyone heard that, we both will become outcast. Or even worse! they might kick us out of the camp. 

I realized I was just starring at them from the shadow for some time. Nobody noticed me up till now, so I stepped into the middle of Clarissa speech about crushing their skulls and using them as fertilizer on our strawberry fields. And they say I am the scary one? Ok. I get way too sarcastic. Must stop hanging out with Per... Oh Right. Nevermind...

"What's going on? Where is..." I bit my tongue. If I asked about Will, they would probably get suspicious. If they find out it will definitely end badly. "Where are your manners? This is serious situation. Zeus is seeking alliance with someone powerful. Someone who can tip the scales in his favor. Hades is ordering a quest to stop it!" I pronounced with as much confidence as I could gather. "The enemy is seeking some artifact that will serve as a payment. We must not let that happen. Three people shall leave and try to get it before them. If we fail, this can mean disaster."

As soon as I finished I was bombarded with questions. "Who is going? Where exactly are we to go? What monster is this thing we will face?" Quickly, they stopped paying attention to me and turned to one another. Now any other Day I would let it slide, but today I was on edge. I let out a loud scream "SILENCE!". Shadows crept over to the middle and I was suddenly covered in green flames. When they stopped, I was standing in full battle armor, my hair a bit more messier. Wow. this divine powers really have their perks. 

There was a dead silence before finally, Chiron spoke. "Lord Nico. Who do you want to send on the quest?". Lord huh? I think I can get used to this 'god' thing. 

"As it is of utmost importance, we must send our best and brightest. This means Clarrisa la Rue, Will Solace and Thalia Grace. They will go consult the oracle about how to start. Is there anything else?" Did I sound godly enough? Was I too stuck up? Was I not stuck up enough?

"There might be... a slight problem with sending Will Solace. He's gone missing and nobody seen him since this morning my Lord." Ok. Chiron is scared of me. Definitely too stuck up. I have not so many friends as it is. I am not planning on scaring them off. WAIT! WILL IS MISSING?

"What do you mean missing?" I asked trying to at least appear as I was not completely freaking out (which I did) "Since when?" Please don't say since yesterday's afternoon. Please. Pretty please...

"Since yesterday. Stolls seen him going into the woods, but he never came back. As per standard procedure, after 16 hours we declared him missing and sent search party. They went all the way to salt creek, but no trace of him or anyone else." So our birthday party disappeared as well? "We suspect enemy might have taken him. He is our best healer. His disappearance might be first sign of incoming attack..." 

"Keep me informed. In that case, I think Lou Ellen Blackstone should replace him. Go to the oracle and begin your quest as soon as you can. I will help looking for Solace until my father gives me other orders." With that, I shadow traveled back to the salt creek to look for Will. 

As I stepped out of the shadows, I fell back. Now you might ask why? Well, there was this pink flames again, saying "Love never forgives nor forget the pain - Eros" What the f... Hades is this crazed rear planning?

A/N I am really sorry for not updating in time, but my schedule is waaaayy too crowded. Me being sick and intentionally ignoring it not to miss anything at school is not helping. I will do my best. Right now I am open for constructive criticism and suggestions.
