Welcome to the Glade (Thomas)

Your Pov-

I wake up choking on water. I spit it out and gasp for air. I cough the water out and continue to gasp for air. I look around and see that I am in a box. I don't know where I am going or what this box does. I bang on the wall.

"Hello? Anyone?" I yell. I just continue to look around, confused and scared. I can't remember anything. The box speeds up and then stops with a big hault. I fall down on my butt and cover my head not knowing why but feeling that I needed to be safe.

I am panting so much out of fear and confusion. The ceiling opens and bright light hits my face. It heats it up a bit, it was sunlight. I hear voices awing and whistling. I look up confused and terrified. One boy jumps down to help me up.

"Day one Greenie!" the boy says. I jump out before he can touch me and the boys back up awing and oh-ing what I just did. I get up and push past the group of guys and start to run. I run and then climb up a tree. The boys just follow and ask what I am doing. "Hey, girl!! Get down from there!" the angry looking boy from earlier yells.

"Not til one of you morons tells me where the hell I am?!" I yell down to them.

"Gally, go get Thomas. He can help her better than any of us." A blond boy with an accent says.

"Fine Newt." Gally scoffs at him. Once Gally is gone, I slowly climb down.

"I'm Newt. Don't worry, I won't hurt you. That isn't why I came. You will be safe here and if any of those boys hurt you, you let me know." I nod. He smiles a little then turns to see a boy with brown hair running over. I back up a little, not sure why he was coming to me. The other boys stopped surrounding the tree so... who was this cute guy?

"Ah, Tommy! You made it, I want you to give this lady a tour of the Glade. Be gentle, she is a little shakened up from the box." Newt explains to Tommy? He nods then pats him on the shoulder. Newt leaves.

"Hi, I am Thomas. Welcome to the Glade." He holds out his hand to shake it.

"I can't remember anything." I say a little scared.

"It's okay. It happened to us all. It happened to me. Your name will come back in a day or two." He explains calmly. I nod. "Come on, I need to show you around before Chuck tries to steal my job of showing you around." He chuckles and I giggle not knowing who Chuck was but sounds like a fun person. We walk over to some hamicks

"So over there is where we grow our food. There is where Frypan make the food. Over there is where the runners go to run the maze. There is where we go to have meetings. There is where we just go to climb up and chill if we want. And here is where we sleep." Patting his hand on a hamick as he finished. "Did you get all that?"

"Um.... we sleep here. Farming there. Eating there. Boring things there. Treehouse there and that is the- wait, did you say maze?" I ask after pointing where he did to make sure I got everything.

"Oh shit. Sorry, I am a runner and I map out the maze." I nod still confused but whatever. The joys of being Greenie, am I right?

"The box!! I forgot to tell you that. The thing you came up in is the box. Every week, we get new supplies and every month, a new person. This month it was you. Honestly, we thought that no one would come up after Teresa, especially a girl."

"Teresa? There is another girl here?" I ask a bit happy. Thomas nods. "YES!! I'm not gonna get raped here!!! Sorry!" I cheer then cover my mouth out of embarassment. (I know I spelled it wrong. Brain ain't working right now! LOL) Thomas just laughs.

"It is alright. If I was you, I would of done that too!" He giggles, making you laugh at yourself.

"Hey Thomas!!!" A cute little boy comes running up to me and him. He hugs him then looks at me. "Woah!! I saw her earlier but not that well but DAMN!! Sorry, you are really pretty." He says rambling a little bit.

"Greenie, this is Chuck. Chuck meet the new Greenie." Thomas introduces me to the famous Chuck.

"So you are the Chuck I heard so much about!" I say shaking his hand.

"What has Thomas told you?" He asks scared.

"Just that you would steal his job if he didn't hurry with the tour." I giggle.

"I do like to steal his show!!" Chuck giggles. Thomas laughs with me and him. He wraps his arm around his neck to give him a knuckle scratch on his head. "No!! I told you no more of those Thomas!!" Chuck says through laughs. Thomas just playfully pushes him away. I laugh at them.

"You two argue like siblings." I scoff playfully. They high five each other then Chuck leaves.

"Ready to get going?" Thomas asks me.

"For what?" I ask.

"We always have a cool little bonfire for the new Greenie." he explains. I nod and say to go.

The bonfire was pretty fun and I got to know Teresa very well. She beamed when she saw that there was a new female in the Glade. I walked around talking with her, having a great time til I come arcoss a circle of gladers. One of them bumps into me. "Come on Greenie. Let's say you and me go a few rounds, huh?" Gally says.

"Greenie, Greenie, Greenie, GREENIE!!!!" The boys cant.

"I try to get you out of the circle and you try to last longer than five minutes." Gally explains.

"I never agreed to this." I say.

"It is tradition." Gally says. "Come on, it will be easy, given your a girl so it should be easy for me to win." The boys just laugh as Gally says that.

"Alright fine! Just to prove your ass wrong!" I say with confidence.

I enter the circle and roll up my sleeves. Gally goes to tackle me but I duck down. He face plants into the sand. The boys freak out and urge him to try to get me. I goes for my legs, I just step to the side and he falls in the sand again. I pretend to yawn making the boys laugh. Gally gets pissed and goes to punch me. I grab his fist and twist his arm behind his back and push him. He falls into the boys who oh then push him back into me. I just hold out my arm and he bumps into it and falls down. I go to leave but he trips me and I hit my head. I suddenly remember my name.

"Y/N!! I remembered my name!!! Y/N!!" I say happily. The boys just cheer and circle around me, calling me and saying that I was a badass.

"Welcome home Y/N!" Frypan says.

"Welcome to the Glade!" Thomas says smiling. "And good job at kicking Gally's ass! I think me and you will be very close friends." I nod and smile.

"Yep, we will!" I say

This is home now!
