I currently sat on the roof of my car outside of the house I'd no longer be calling 'home'. Cold Black Days by Atrocity played loudly through the speakers as I smoked and stared out into the back yard in deep thought. I'm just hoping this move is the right thing to do.
My thoughts were then interrupted when I hear my mom's voice over the music. "Oh, honey! I'm going to miss you so much."
I laughed and jumped down from my car to hug her tightly. "I'll miss you too, but I'm only going to be an hour away. I'll call every day I promise,"
Finally, once everything was packed, the U-Haul arrived shortly after. My parents both helped load it all into the large van. Then, I led the way towards my new home with both of them in the van following me.

We unloaded everything into my large living room and I promised myself I'd have it all put away by the end of the week. My parents wanted to help me pick out furniture tomorrow so it wouldn't be so empty in here.
I picked out my master bedroom and carried all of the stuff I wanted in there up the stairs and set it up so I could at least sleep in peace tonight.
The next morning, I got up and stretched for a little too long. Deciding that most rooms would need to be repainted, I decided to go and buy some paint before I'm supposed to pick out the furniture. I made a list of each room plus the color before grabbing my keys and wallet, locking the house and off I went.
With all of the paint picked out, as well as all of the supplies I'd need to have it all done, I headed to the checkout line. Right as I paid and got my receipt, my phone was ringing.
Oh, my heart is breaking and I've been waiting for the longest time. Oh, step down; discard m–
"Yo," I answered my phone lazily, not even checking the name ID that popped up.
"Where are you? I'm at your house to pick you up," my father's voice came through loudly.
"Damn. I'm at the hardware store getting paint. I'll just meet you at the furniture place if you'll tell me how to get there,"
I wasn't aware of where many places were here in West Chester. It's much smaller than Philadelphia but that's exactly what I wanted. Smaller town, less neighbors and less distractions so I can focus on my career as a pro skateboarder. I just got signed by Element and I'm so excited for everything to take off.
