Chapter 2 - I Have Seen the Classroom
We ran as fast as we could. We passed through hallways, corridors, and climbed up the stairs.
"This is a really long route to our classroom. Are you sure this is the way?" I asked Nick while running.
"Yup. Someday you'll get used to it, Louise. And every morning, I will wait for you at that gate," he pointed a big gate from the window as we passed."and I will always annoy you. Mwahahaha." he said, doing an evil laugh. I completely ignored him. But inside of me, I want to punch him and kick him.
I checked again my watch. F, it's 8:29. One more minute to go. Then we stopped at a brown door and on the window of the door is labeled class 1-C. We went inside. The cold air from the aircon hit me in the face. Good thing I brought my jacket. After going inside, I gasped for air. I noticed he's still holding my hand and me holding Julia's hand who's still gasping for air.
After a few seconds, Nick dragged me again to a chair at the middle row and I sat there. He sat at the chair in front of me. Then I dragged Julia to a chair behind me. He let go of my hand and I let go of Julia's hand. I glanced at my watch again. It's 8:30, right in time for the teacher to arrive.
"Hey Nick, why didn't the teacher arrive yet?" I asked.
"Huh? Oh, it's alway like this. Teachers always arrive like 5 minutes late." Nick said.
"WHAT?! We kept running and running---" the bell began to ring. Oh man, why do bells always ring when I talk. I always experience this at my old school. One of the reasons I move at this school, but...
"Louise!" Julia snapped her finger under my nose. I turned to her and whispered to her.
"Why are you blushing a while ago?" she blushed again. Wow, maybe...
"Let me introduce something to you. Nick is one of the...um, The Boys."
"Wait, are saying they formed a group with the boys and most boys here are... gays?!" I said, shocked.
"No! Well, some act like one. But why would you say that? What I mean is The Boys is the most popular group among the boys here. They're also popular for the girls because, y-y-you know." she stammered.
Oh, I get it. He is one of the boys (please prepare a bucket for me to vomit) who has... (Ackkk) good looks and popular for the girls. Okay, he might have a look but that doesn't stop me for hating him. And the worst part is... we k-k-kinda look alike. 'Cause he's my couz, you know.
"I get it now, Julia. But I have one rule for you: don't like him. He's probably bad, a prankster, and crazy. I know that because we're cousins, okay?" I said. Giving her advice this early is probably useful throughout the year.
"Okay. Wait, did I hear you clearly? You're cousins with Nick?" she said
"Yeah. Does that bother you?" I said with a hint of anger in my voice. I don't know why I'm angry. I'm just annoyed.
"No. It's just obvious that you two are related. You both have brown hair, almost---"
"Shhhhhh! Never talk about our similarities again." I shushed her. Usually, I get angry when people talk about our similar features. It's getting annoying when people talk about your similarities with a person you don't like or hate.
Julia nodded and raised a hand. "I promise to never talk about your similarities with Nick,"
"Okay, that's better. Hey Julia do you have any thi---" I didn't finish the sentence because I noticed that all girls were looking at me (except me of course). They looked very... angry. For five seconds, I finally knew why. Since Nick is in The Boys, they might be, um, let's say jealous at me. Someday in front of the whole class (that is if I have courage to), I will shout that I AM COUSINS with Nick.
I turned around and faced Nick. I searched for my umbrella (I always have an umbrella in my bag for emergencies) and when I found it, I grabbed it.
Hey Louise! What's gotten into you? Don't hit Nick!
Usually in most of these lettering, my own self was talking to me or should I say that I talk to myself. Hahaha.
Just only one, please? I said.
NO! Otherwise, the more you hurt popular people, the more people will get mad at you unless...
Unless what? I said.
Nevermind. STOP!
Then I realized (or realised, just pick the correct one) I was already lifting the umbrella. I looked at my surroundings then I saw many shocked people. I'm not bad or anything, I'm just protecting myself.
Then Julia held my hand.
"What are you doing?! Another rule for you: Don't hit anyone popular!" she whispered to me.
"Mm. I'm stopping it, okay," I said while putting my hand (and the umbrella) on the armchair.
I looked around again. I saw many people sighing and calming down. Seriously, is this how popular Nick is?
The door opened, and the teacher came in. And the whole class became quiet like the usual.
