You and Jeff drove for five more minutes before you arrived at the forest. You found a wooded area and began getting ready to bury the body.
"Alright you get the bodies and I'll get the shovels," you said to Jeff as you both walked to the trunk.
"Uhhh Y/n," Jeff said catching your attention.
"Yes Jeff," you asked unlocking the trunk.
"Where are you going to get the shovels?"
You stopped with the trunk halfway up. The small smile you had from your banter in the car ride over disappeared immediately. You closed the trunk and walked to the side of the car.
"SHIT," you yelled kicking the wheel, "this is turning out to be the longest night ever." You leaned over the trunk, placing your hand on your forehead while you thought about what you could do, but nothing popped into mind. Jeff walked over to your side, staring at the side of your face with concern.
"Alright uh, let's calm down and think.. Why don't we just dump him in the river or something. We could put some rocks into the body bag and he'll sink to the bottom, right," Jeff asked trying to come up with a plan to help you out. You lifted your head and your face brightened.
"That's a great idea," you said happily turning your head to Jeff.
"Yeah I know, but it's all I could come up wi-," Jeff stopped himself mid-sentence. He hadn't expected you to agree with him. "Wait, really," he asked surprised.
"Yes, it's a great idea. There's a lake a little deeper into the woods here. We could drive him there, put in a couple boulders and dump him." Jeff looked at you cautiously.
"What," you asked noticing his stare.
"Doll, you just agreed with me about something when you've been shooting down my ideas tonight, so forgive me if I'm a little shocked," Jeff said staring at you. Your smile faded after you realized you had been dismissing his ideas all night. Though they were all for good reason, you still felt bad. Jeff started walking back to the passenger car door.
"I'm sorry," you said looking down at the keys you were fiddling with in your hands. Jeff stopped in his tracks and stared at you with caution again.
"Okay now I'm really starting to get freaked out. Are you feeling alright," Jeff asked staring at you in awe. You sighed and looked up.
"No, I'm serious. I'm sorry for dismissing everything that you suggested tonight as if it was nonsense. You tried and I didn't really pay any attention to that.. Also thank you for helping me with all of this. I know technically I was the only one supposed to do all of this, but you helped me with everything, so thank you," you said looking back down. Jeff slowly started to approach you, stopping right in front of you.
"No problem, doll," he said staring at you looking down, "I mean if I hadn't come along, you probably wouldn't have made it this far. I mean who else would do the heavy lifting for you?" He smirked and you looked up smirking slightly as well, playfully pushing his shoulder. Something fluttered in Jeff's heart. He felt so warm for making you smile. He stared at your smile for a minute before slowly staring to inch his head forward. Your body realized what was happening before you did and started leaning forward on instinct. Your lips got close enough to barely graze each other when a light started blinding you.
"What're you kids doing out here," a male voice screamed from behind the bright flashlight. You and Jeff jumped away from each other, only just now being conscious to what you two were about to do.
"I'm going to need to see some ID," a female voice called out. You realized you recognized them both.
"Tiffany? Mike?" You asked in a questioning tone. The man turned his flashlight down a little to reveal your friends smiling and giggling at you. You started walking towards them smiling.
