The sudden pattering of raindrops against the fogged window woke Ophelia from her deep slumber.
She groaned barely audible to herself when her glance wandered off to the moving landscape outside the vehicle.
"Are you alright, Sweetheart?"
With a slight look of irritation she turned towards the voice.
"Mm, I think so Mum", she answered sleepily and forced a smile off her lips.
"You can go back to sleep if you want, we will be home in about an hour"
A much darker voice sighed calmly from the seat in front of her.
'Home. What a weird thing to say to someone who lately wasnt able to stay in one place for more than a few months'
Painful screams, yelling and faint whispers replayed in Ophelias head.
What gruesome place she has been in, what terrible things she had seen with her own two eyes.
No, no one is going to drag her down to that place again, she wont go through all of this a second, neither a third nor fourth time.
A cold hand was suddenly placed on her with goosebumps covered skin, tightly wrapping around her wrist.
Her gaze threw up from the spot she was staring at with a scared yelp.
"Hey, is really everything okay honey? Youre looking a bit pale..", Rachel asked, her warm voice filled with worry.
She retrievered her hand from the grip around her daughters arm to lazily place it back onto her lap.
"Y-Yes, im fine, im fine..", she stuttered unsure of what had just happened, how these images found their way into her mind.
Ophelia took a deep breath and wrapped her own hand around her wrist for comfort, stroking it slowly, then closed her for some reason teary eyes for the second time.
A cold shiver ran down her bruised back while doing so and the previous images began running behind her firmly closed eye lids again.
