Shattered had leaned on the door of Nightmare's bedroom when he heard those magical words. Finally, Nightmare wasn't criticizing him like he had in the past... The past Nightmare can't remember, of course. But Shattered could. He wasn't memory wiped like his sugarcube was.

Blushing slightly, he stepped back from the door, his hand to his chest as he almost flopped to the wall. He shook off this want though and went down the hallway, his heels clacking loudly as he did so. It gave him a sort of authority type of air.

Hopefully Nightmare knew that Shattered was headed off to do his "job" like he always had to do. Shattered forgot to mention that part. Nightmare wasn't stupid though, so he should figure it out. Hopefully he trusted Shattered enough that he would come back.

He just needed to stop doubting everything, himself especially, really... Shattered wished he could give Nightmare his own confidence. Sacrifice it. Except it's not really much of a sacrifice when Shattered would do virtually anything for Nightmare.

Coming back to reality, Shattered realized he was now in the throne room, where his "duties" usually started. Maybe someone would try to assassinate him today so he could get a free kill. It happened once, it could happen again.

He glanced around. He felt something was off, but he ignored the feeling of something missing... or something new being in the castle. It disgruntled him, but he dismissed it and sat on the throne, crossing his legs as he supported his head on his left resting arm.

"Hmm... Maybe I should ask that 'Cross' what's up. He's been missing for some time," Shattered muttered. "Haven't seen him in the castle since the incident I had with Killer."

Shattered pushed back a memory he didn't want to remember. Even if it had a happy ending, it had such a bad start that he didn't want to care at the moment. He wanted to find out what was bothering him about the castle.

He stood up and paced in the throne room, wondering where he could find someone like Cross. Someone like him was very predictable, but not at the same time. He had sort of spontaneous patterns, mixed together with habits.

Suddenly, Shattered snapped his attention to whoever was now in front of him. Error. Shattered growled, "What are you doing here and what do you want?"

"wHAT aRe YOu dOInG? ThINKiNG?" He asked, his glitchy voice aggravating Shattered slightly. If he could fix it, he definitely would. The most painful way possible.

"... Yes, but why would you care?" Shattered answered. His eyebrow lowered. If he had two eyebrows, one would be slightly raised while the other was lowered.

"GoOD qUeSTI--IOn... BeCAuS--S--Se I d-d-dON'T."

Shattered rolled his only-showing eye, folding his arms and straightening his position. "Well, then get out of my d*mn castle. You were Nightmare's ally, not a Bad Sans member. So get out unless you have something important to tell me," Shattered ordered. "Do it now before I do what I did to Killer."

Error almost seemed to nearly flinch, but it would be out of surprise more than fear. "oH, sTiLL uPSeT aBoUT ThAT?" Error asked, laughing a little. God, Shattered just wanted to rip his skeletal throat apart. His voice was so annoying. He contained it though, he knew of Error's ability. "AnD hErE I-I tHou--ou--ouT tHAt YoU wErE oVeR THaT!"

Shattered growled. He felt that he was about to summon his tentacles out of anger and lash out at Error, but he didn't want to start a fight. Not here. Especially when Nightmare could easily stroll down the hallway and see what Shattered was fully capable of... and ruin everything. Just like last time. Shattered had to refrain from remembering what he had to do... He did wonder where that girl that "saved" Nightmare went, but he didn't care, he would kill her eventually.

Just like how he would Error.

He will be dead soon if he keeps this up.

"I. Said. Get out. Of my. Castle," he growled in warning. "Now."

"fINE. JuST wAntED to SAy tHAt cRisSY cROSSy iS tRYiNG to SteAl NiGhTmAre SoOn," Error said, laughing a bit as he opened a portal behind him. Something with a sunset. "I DoN'T LikE CrOSs, sO I tHouGhT thAT I wOulD gEt rEveNge bY teLLinG yOu ThIs."

Error was about to leave when Shattered raced forward, grabbing his scarf and pulling him back. Error didn't like that, messages filling his eye sockets angrily. He must not have liked the touch, but Shattered didn't care.

He let go of the scarf and demanded, "When?!"

"DoEs It MAtTER!?!" Error asked, flipping his arms up angrily, despite probably crashing soon.

"Yes! So I know exactly when to slit his throat!" Shattered retorted, grinning.

Error groaned. "I DOn-n'T kNOw, I thInK hE meNTiOneD sOmeThInG aBouT it BeIng 'iN tHrEe dAys wHeN the MoOn rIseS,' oR sOmeTh-Th-Ing LiKe ThaT, bUt tHAt wAs lAst nIghT, sO yEAh, tWo DaYS," Error said. That was when he whipped around and entered the portal before Shattered could say anything else.

Well. Shattered knew he wouldn't be raiding villages and "converting" their opinions anytime soon. He would have to prepare for Cross's kidnapping of Nightmare, or whatever he was planning to do with him.

Hopefully he didn't realize who Nightmare was yet. He shouldn't. He doesn't exactly know much about Nightmare, other than the goopy octopus was also named Nightmare.

Shattered growled. Cross was not the smartest, so he hoped he didn't consider the fact that the uncorrupted bean was named Nightmare for a reason.

I should have changed his name. Altered his memories, or something, Shattered thought. He sighed, relaxing his tense shoulders. Too late now though. That would be too much work and it could also be risky... He still hasn't healed properly; he still has to take his nightly pills...

Time to go pay Nightmare a visit.
