HER HEART

Beauty ranks high in the eyes of anyone who perceives it
She embodies the very word in every bit
Yet she acts oblivious of the fact
Humble, as much as the word would hold fact..

She held my hand, as wary of my intent as she was
She let me in, she brought down her walls
Displayed all her flaws
And tucked me in the deepest of her heart
With my soul intended as an eternal guest
Sprouting and digging my roots therein
I called her very being home
Unlike those before she came around
Her heart wasn't stitched together
It wasn't a repaired craft of a shredded masterpiece
It was pure of Love's despair
A living treasure, to hold with care
She held none of it back from me, and yes I did care
And yet, I set ablaze the Paradise that it was
I left it not in a million pieces but ashes
I watched her break down by my hand and walked away
And yet she wailed begging me to stay
Despite my crude ways

I scarred her beauty
I broke her heart
