  Flashback

"Why did this one take you two weeks? You usually get them in a few days." said the man who threw me an evil look earlier.

Blake's expression was completely different from what I was used to. He had a smooth composure with eyes that held little to no emotion. I felt extremely uncomfortable with it.

Where was that heart melting smile that he gave me every time I saw him? Where did the warmth go? I probably should be thinking more about how he's a freaky wolf boy but it was actually the little details that were unnerving me more. How wrong was my assumption of this guy?

I tried to catch his gaze but he refused to look at me. I nearly threw a fit, look at me you bloody coward and tell me why I'm here?!

"She was harder to convince. This one actually had a brain. Unlike some of the others." Blake said.

My eyes widened "So there are others? You took other people and turned them into animals too? Blake, why would you do that?"

He stared at the other man as he talked to me "My name is not Blake. Stop calling me that."

I felt warm and not the type of warmth that you feel in a lover's embrace. I mean the, I desperately want to kill you kind of warmth. Anger consumed me from head to toe "Oh so that was a lie as well? Good to know your nothing but a mutant and a habitual liar."

In a second I regretted saying that. He finally met my gaze but his eyes radiated pure rage before I felt his hand smack across my cheek. The pain was blinding, unbelievably blinding. My cheek didn't feel like it got slapped, it felt like it got massacred. My eyes flickered in and out of consciousness until I finally forced myself not to pass out.

When the scenery stopped being so blurry, I blinked several times and looked back up at Blake. He held shock and surprise in his expression. Almost like he couldn't believe I was able to stay conscious. "You-You hit me!" I sputtered.

The shock disappeared and was replaced with amusement "Maybe I was wrong. You are stupid."

I was about to get up and punch him when he suddenly grabbed my wrist. Somehow, he understood my intentions before I even moved. "Don't you dare." He snarled and punched me. If I thought his slap was painful imagine how much his punch hurt. I wanted to pass out but something in me kept me awake. Perhaps it was fear or maybe it was the new power from being a wolf. Whatever it was, I thanked and hated it. Half of me wanted the pain to go away but the other half shouted at me to try and stay awake. I had no trust for these people and if I passed out now, they'd be able to do whatever they wanted without hearing any protest.

"Decimus!" a voice shouted the moment I received the punch and fell to the ground. We both looked up, I wincing as I turned my head. The other man had a dangerous gleam in his eyes "She won't be able to survive another hit. You know how weak they are when they first start out."

"She needs to know her place father." He growled "I won't let her disrespect me."

"As much as I agree with you, this is not the place to punish her. We have guards and dungeons for that."

I could barely focus on the conversation with my head swimming so much. But I did grasp the crucial details. Blake's real name is Decimus and the older man is his father. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
