Almost a week later, Chris complained to Guy, "Can you believe it? She never called back!" Guy had to hold back a laugh, somehow he managed to find another girl in record time. She didn't pick up a single call after one date. Guy wasn't surprised. Perhaps he came on too strong or was just generally annoying, Guy knew how his best friend could be.
"You'll find somebody else in no time," he sighed. Guy wished Chris would realize he would have a better chance with the person in front of him, but nothing good is ever rushed. "Can't you bear to be alone for a bit," he asked.
Chris noticed that Guy was visibly annoyed. It made sense, Guy had to comfort him and give him advice daily at this point. It had to be tiring after some point. "Eh, I guess you're right. You know I'm sorry. I just hate being alone," he muttered the last part as Guy rolled his eyes.
The other could sympathize with this. Although he liked to be alone, Chris seemed to need company at every waking moment. That probably explained why Guy was sat in his couch in the middle of the night. Chris crossed his arms, "how's you and what's his name."
Yet again, Chris forgot another part of Guy's life. "There's nobody. Hasn't been in a while," he said forcefully. That's when Chris decided to take a chance or at least test the waters to see if Guy felt a similar way.
"I should buy you dinner, a nice dinner," he said before instantly realizing that it was an odd way to ask him out. It also didn't even fit into their conversation, but he couldn't wait. Guy only grinned and tilted his head, "Er, you usually buy me dinner anyway. That's nothing new." Of course, he knew what Chris was getting at, but he wanted to hear the words.
"Like a date you pillock you knew what I meant," Chris spat out.
"Just 'cause you can't find a girl in less than twenty-four hours doesn't mean you go for your mate."
"It's not like that!"
Guy grinned, finally it was happening, "Then of course."
In both of their minds it took far too long to get to this point, so when Chris leaned over to kiss him, Guy kissed back.

felt kinda forced, I wanted to wrap this up and write something else that I can come up with more for. Any suggestions and requests, do comment. Ending chapter was bad I know.
