I was Murdered, Chapter One: The Perfect Ending

In a past time, Elisa Grayson’s life was simple, normal and almost perfect.

She was born on the 26th of March, 1975 in the folds of a small town named Gray court, South Carolina. Her parents Jennifer and Greg Grayson described her as their blessing because she was the first child to them after many years of marriage and they never managed to give her any siblings. Her mother was so fond of her and she used to call her, her beautiful pearl. That nickname might have come from Elisa’s white skin and frail appearance. She was the most innocent, most soft-looking creature anyone had ever set eyes on. She had a head full of golden curls and eyes as blue as the sky. Her lips were a light shade of pink and tiny freckles scattered all around her angelic face.

At the age of nine months, she took her very first step. And at the age of eighteen months she spoke her first complete sentence. “Mommy, daddy took my candy!” At the age of two, she made her very first friend, a little three-year-old girl named Margret Mason and since both families were neighbors, the friendship managed to survive.

At the age of four, she went to school for the first time. Pictures of her in her small yellow uniform and her two tiny ponytails are still hanging from a lot of walls at her parent’s old house. At the age of five, she performed in her first school play, playing the role of the fairy and it was in this play were she sang twinkle twinkle little star and the small audience couldn’t help but sigh at her beautiful form and lovely voice.

At the age of six she got her first swimming lesson and at the age of seven her first piano lesson. At the age of eight, she made her very first imaginary friend, a small boy called Troy Sparks. He was short with brown hair and eyes. He came from Disneyland and told her all the magical stories about the princesses he met there. He told her about the candy they give him and he promised her he would take her there one time.

At the age of eleven she got her first crush and at the age of twelve she broke for the first time a boy’s heart. At the age of fourteen she dated for the first time and at the age of fifteen she fell in love for the first time with a boy named Mike John. At the age of sixteen she had her very first real broken heart.

Now at the age of seventeen, the little pearl, the blessing of her parents almost never changed. Maybe got taller. She was still as white as the snow and her hair was still a glowing flow of golden strings. Her lips were still of the same colour and the innocence never left her features. Her looks never changed but she was a woman then. She was ready for the biggest twist of her life.

And it came. She met a guy in her senior year of high school. He was a few years older and they met at the town's little dinner. His name was Tom Chance, a twenty-one year old college student living with his old mother. He was so handsome, tall and had it all. He was halfway through the police academy and was about to graduate in a year or so.

It was very unexpected and unpredictable how fast she fell in love with him. It didn't take more than a few meetings and he proved to know exactly the perfect way to handle a woman. He was charming and had an amazing sense of humor. He always managed to make her laugh and knew his way around everything. He made her feel special and had her believe she was the center of his world. But mostly, she was fascinated with his eyes. They were the best shade of deep blue, sparkling whenever light hit them. Their love story was the new talk of this town and they managed to stay together for her whole senior year.

At prom, on the 22nd of June 1993, eighteen-year-old Elisa Grayson gave herself to Tom Chance. That night they made love and she knew right then and there how much and how hard she really fell for that man. She did not hesitate a second throughout the whole night and she woke up the next morning entrapped in his arms. It was the best night of her life.

A few days after, Tom went on an obligatory trip outside the country to finish his last round of finally being able to be a cop. It was a three month trip and he promised his girl that he would be back soon. When he left, Elisa felt as though he took a part of her with him. She missed him dearly.

A month after that Elisa made the discovery of being pregnant and called her lover, delivering the news. Although she loved Tom with all her heart and trusted him dearly, she still feared his reaction to such a delicate matter. She feared he would tell her he wasn't quite ready for a family.

But he surprised her. He calmed her down after she called and blabbered about what happened and two months later he came back with a degree and a golden ring. He proposed to her in front of her house on the 27th of September, 1993 and with tears flowing down her cheeks she said yes.

After breaking the news to her parents and the time it took them to accept the fact that their little girl was no longer only theirs, they agreed and blessed the marriage but of course after they did a whole full background search on her groom. They couldn't catch much on him anyway because being from such a very small town where everybody knows everybody and where the number of cows is larger than the number of the residents, his record came out clean.

On the 19th of March 1994, Elisa gave birth to a very beautiful girl that they named Abigail and a month after that, on the 19th of April, 1994, Tom Chance and Elisa Grayson finally got married in the town's only church. The moment she spoke out her vows and accepted Tom Chance as her husband was a moment where she believed deep in her heart that indeed she made the right choice and that this man was the perfect one for her. She never thought she would regret anything latter on and she believed she had the best plan for her life.

That she would spend it with the man she truly loved. It was the perfect ending. Almost.
