Monday came quickly and I was mildly unprepared.
Well, maybe more than mildly.
When my alarm went off at at 6:45, everyone else in the house was still asleep, while Dan was already on his way to work. The girls elementary school didn't start until an hour after my high school.
Having taken a shower the night before, all I had to do this morning was slip into Jean shorts and a black shirt with a cool design on it. I spent a good 15 minutes styling my hair, attempting to anyway.
By 7:30, I had some toast for breakfast and was headed to the car. It was a nice day out, the sun was shining and all that. After a couple wrong turns, I finally found my new school.
Finding a park spot way another issue. I guess everyone came to school early for the first day of school, something I never thought to do. I have a hard enough time waking up as is.
In the far corner there was a spot open, and as I turned to take it, a motorcycle pulled in infront of me. Fucking motorcycles. I honked my horn and flipped the twat off, which he returned.
After an addition 5 minutes of searching, I opted to park on the grass because apparently everyone drove today. Grabbing my backpack from the backseat, I heard the bell go off. Late on the first day, fabulous. And I have yet to get my schedule.
I made my way through the halls to the student services office. A petite blonde lady with a pixie hair cut sat in front of the desk. "How may I help you."
"Ya.. My name is Louis Tomlinson, I'm new here and I haven't got my schedule." I answered, glancing at the clock to see I was already 10 minutes late.
"Okay love, which grade?"
"11"
She nodded, typed something's into her desktop computer, then got up and disappeared into a back room. Seconds later, she returned with a piece of paper in hand. "Here you go, looks like you're headed to maths first." She smiled.
Math. Worst homeroom I could every ask for. If the room wasn't in such an unconveniently location, it'd be a little better. After twist and turns, I found myself in the corner of the school.
The teacher was in front of the class introducing herself when I knocked on the door. "Ah you must be Louis! The office just buzzed down and let me know you were coming. Please, take your seat in the back there." She pointed to the empty desk next to a blonde boy who was practically bouncing in his seat.
As I sat down, she continued. "My name is Mrs. Wheeler. Let me tell you a bit about myself!" And she did. For the nearly the rest of the period. I zoned out after just minutes, once she started going on about her dogs.
I felt someone tap my shoulder, and turned to see the blonde sat next to me.
"I'm Niall," he smiled, "What's your name?"
Making friends on the first day? Booyah. "Louis." I said, reaching across from where my arm had been folded across my desk to shake his hand.
"So are you new here or something? I haven't seen you around."
"Yup, just moved here from Doncaster." I told him.
As he opened his mouth to reply, Mrs. Wheeler called us out. "Louis, Niall, I'm glad to see you're getting to know eachother, but when I am speaking you are not."
"Sorry." We both replied at the same time.
For the rest of the period, we resorted to passing notes, getting to know each other. Turns out he's in three of my other classes, which is great. Science was my next class, and since I had it with Niall, we walked together after the bell rang.
Getting into the lab, we sat near the middle, excited to be lab partners. The students flooded in, and the bell signalling the beginning of class rang.
"Welcome, welcome, welcome, to what will be your favourite class this year." The teacher strolled into the classroom with a wide smile across his face. "I'm Mr. Webber, but I prefer you to just call me Mr. W."
He grabbed a piece of paper off his desk and continued. "Now, I know some of you might hate me for this, but I have decided to assign lab partners." The class groaned, and I began to worry about being paired with anyone but Niall.
"Yes, I know, terrible. Anyway, let's get to it. At this first lab bench at the front, let's get Ben K. and Jenna H." He continued listing off names off people I didn't know.
Half way through, pointing to a lab bench in the back of the room, he called my name. "Louis Tomlinson and..." Please let it be Niall. "Harry Styles." Dammit.
I gathered my things, making my way to my new seat. Another boy stood up and made his way over as well. He's so tall and lanky.
He, Harry I guess, took his seat next to me without saying a word. And, oh my, is he ever pretty. His dark curls were pushed back off his forehead, and his face held no emotion.
Before he noticed me staring, I scanned the room for Niall and found him sat next to a girl with long brown hair.
Throughout the class, we got our texts books and reviewed the general idea of science. Blah, blah, blah.
In the last 5 minutes of class, we we're given time to "mingle" with each other. I turned to Harry, and saw him listening to music, both earbuds in. So loud I could hear it. Why did I find that hot?
I sat quietly til the end of class, glancing sideways at the boy next to me from time to time. When the class ended, I made my way to my locker, then found my next class.
