Aaliyah Blake -
The plane had finally landed, and I was in California. I stepped into the airport and looked around in awe, I really couldn't believe, I wasn't home. Taking a deep breath, I walked over to the baggage claim and waited for my bags.
Once I had them, I pulled my phone from my pocket and took it off airplane mode, then went to my Uber App. I requested an Uber and it was 20 minutes away.
The app let me know the Uber was outside, I grabbed my bags, and made my way out of the exit and out to the car. The driver took my bags and asked where I was going, I told him, and in no time, we were pulling in front of the college.
I sighed, examining the building, and admiring the beautiful campus. After thanking, and paying the driver, I grabbed my bags and made my way to administration.
Once they got everything together, I was given my schedule and dorm number.
Finally, I found the room, and opened the door with the key. It was open, and I walked in, looking around the suite-like dorm room, it was really beautiful.
I picked a room, and started to get to work. I made my bed, decorated the room a little, and in an hour I was done.
I plopped down on my bed, and sighed, looking around, the other room had already been decorated, so I assumed my roommate had already been here. I shrugged, and pulled out my phone.
I had gotten a text from my best friend, Bryden.

I sat my phone back on my desk and leaned back against my headboard, letting my thoughts take over. Eventually, I dosed off.
-
I jumped from my bed when I heard the door slam, I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and grabbed my phone checking the time.
7:15pm.
"Damn, I slept that long," I yawned, stretching.
I slid into my slides, and made my way to the front of the dorm. There sat a curly headed, light skinned girl, who stared at me with a mean mug.
I scrunched up my face.
"Is there a problem? I know you or sum'?" I asked.
She just looked me up and down.
"Fuck is you looking at me like that for?" I asked again, getting irritated.
"I like you." she smiled.
I raised an eyebrow.
"You can hold your own. I like that, any of these other girls woulda been pussy, I like that you different."
I smirked.
"I just make sure it's known that I take bullshit from no one." I shrugged.
"We gon' be good friends."
"I'm Kayden." she held her hand out.
"Aaliyah." I shook it, smiling at her.
"Pretty name."
"Thank you."
"No problem."
"Where you from?"
"I'm from Harlem."
"Oh for real? I got a friend who grew up there." she smiled.
"That's cool. It's not a peachy place to live, but shit, I love it." I smiled.
She smiled too.
"So, where you from?"
"I'm from here. I was born in Houston, Texas."
"Oh okay, that's cool."
"Yeah, so, I wanna introduce you to my friends, their having a kickback tonight if you down to go."
"Sure, I don't mind. What time?"
"Like nine."
"Bet."
-
I slid into a pair of light washed jeans, a champion sweatshirt, and all white Air Force 1's, to be honest, I wanted to stay in but I didn't pass up the opportunity to smoke, it was a kickback, so I knew there would atleast be somebody there smoking. Once I was dressed, I brushed my natural hair into a ponytail pulled to the back, then swooped my edges. I added a coat of lip gloss to my lips, and grabbed my black fanny pack.
I slid my phone, keys, charger, and earphones into it, and zipped it closed. I checked my watch.
8:45pm.
Tonight was gonna be a long night.
