Let's play a game.
The rules aren't hard.
Just pull a card and we'll see what you've won.
And what's the prize?
You may ask.
But if I told you, where's the fun in that?
Is this a joke to you?
You pulled the joker now your turn is through.
I pulled the queen,
I win.
The score is one to none and now you're in.
It's a game of cards,
A game of chance,
It's the one thing you can't cheat at.
A game of hearts,
And a game of scars,
It's the one thing I won't take back.
Here comes round two.
And you're surprised.
You really don't know how much I cried.
You want to quit.
But you did,
The day I learned the tricks that you hid.
Is this your chance to stand?
As you pull an ace and win the hand?
I pulled a three.
How funny.
The game is one to one, but we're not done.
Now at round three.
And the victor crowned.
There are "congrats" and apologies all around.
We played the game.
Let's see who won.
I'm sure you could guess, not that the time has come.
I just could hardly wait,
As you pulled and eight.
You fold your cards, sharp as Karma's glass shards.
I pull a king.
Your face turns green.
And displayed upon the screen,
My name in bold and yours... nowhere to be seen.
