Zeus

I tried to convince myself that leaving the man in the phone booth alone was the best thing to do.
But I couldn't.

He probably had nowhere else to go so he was sleeping in there.

If only he knew that that obsolete phone booth wouldn't save him from the rain coming.

I threw a rain coat over my body, pulled out a not so good umbrella from behind the stove and ran out into the rain.

The man was sitting in the far corner of the booth hugging himself tightly.
I knocked on the mist covered glass, "Sir, Are you alright?"

No answer

"If you don't mind I'ld like to be of assistance to you."

Still no answer.

Please let him not be dead ...

I pulled the door to the phone booth open and squatted in front of him.
I noticed the long flowing hair covering his face.

I wiped my face with my hand, running my fingers through my hair to push it away from my face to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

I touched his head and brought it to my gaze.

And those sparkling dark eyes hit me
My mouthdropped "You are not a sire"

Her gaze fell and I found my self hoping she'll look at me again.

She was obviously too weak.
"Lemme carry you", I asked for permission.
She only whimpered.

I took that as a yes and scooped her in my arms and took her to the truck with me

Soon I arrived at Kyle's car wash and parked under one of the shades for the night. It wasn't the most suitable for the rain that was coming, but it was better than nothing.

She was coiled up on my sofa at back of my truck. Sleeping or fainted.

Or dead

I put my hand over her nose. Her breath was cold but she was alive.
"Thank God"

I shook her a little. Sleeping in her condition could be dangerous. Her eyes fluttered open and I smiled wryly
"That's it"

"Stay with me okay." I told her, but I could still see her slipping away.

How long had she been in the cold rain?

I shook her again, my brain thought of ways to keep her awake.

"Oh say can you see... "I sang,

Asif understanding what I was trying to do, a weak smile appeared across her face and she started singing along in whispers and shivers. "By the dawn's early light"
     Good girl.

I need to get her warm. I thought

Carefully I tugged at her tangtop removing my gaze from her navy blue bra and the full breasts they comforted.

Christ my Lord and king......

Was i getting turned on by a dying woman right now?

I took a spare shirt I had in the van and threw it over her body nudging her each time to stay awake.
I continued singing the anthem so she'll sing along, and she did.

My shirt fell about an inch or two above her knee.
I nodded my head pleased by my job so far.

Now her joggers.
