"Pssst." The young boy's eyes opened slowly, which was kinda unusual. They usually popped out with pure horror writhing within them, but he just shrugged it off. "Hey Squeegee, do you wanna come with me on my walk?" To his surprise he didn't receive a response, just a quiet sniffing sound and him sitting up in bed slowly. "We can get brain freezies.." Nny said smiling sheepishly. Then he noticed that his younger friend had a tear stained face. He felt embarrassed at himself for being so selfish and unaware. He walked over to him and sat on the end of his bed looking at him with concerns written in his face. "Squee..." the boy finally looked up at him and sighed. "I guess I can go.." Todd answered. "Ok..." Nny said looking down at the floor. They both climbed down the ladder quietly to not disturb his asshole of a father (his mom was probably too drugged up to hear anything anyways). Then their walk began.
For the first ten minutes they walked together in silence Nny looking around at the surroundings and Todd down to his feet. "Hey Sq-errm-T-Todd..Todd, are you feeling alright?" Todd looked at him with slight surprise. "Yeah.... just sleepy." Nny didn't seem too convinced with the answer. "Alright. So... how's school been for you this year?" They stopped and waited for a grey dodge truck to pass. "Well...it's been better." Nny glanced at him. "Like things are improving or they just suck at the moment?" Squee shrugged. "It's always been kinda hard I guess. I'm picked on a lot by the other kids, but I have one friend. He scares the heck out of me though..." Todd said cringing in horror. "Ah, that's good you have a friend. If you ever have any rude kid problems just let me know and you won't have to worry about it anymore kiddo." Todd smiled nervously at him. "I mean I don't have to kill them, but I can if you want me to." He said smiling widely. "Th-that's ok... W-were you bullied in school?" Nny hummed in thought. "Yeah, I was made fun of mostly for being skinny. Called Noodle boy, that type of shit. I was beat up by asshole jocks a lot. I can't remember a whole lot about my past, but I do remember a lot of the bad shit that's happened in my life.. Maybe it's a good thing I cannot remember much. Maybe there's even more crappy stuff." Todd looked at him with sympathy. "I'm sorry about that. Did you at least have friends that you spent time with?" Nny shook his head. "No, but later on I made... ehh more like acquaintances. They're not around anymore though, which I don't care about."
They walked up to a bench. "Want to take a short break? You did say that you were tired, which is probably since you just woke up." He shrugged, but went ahead and sat on the wooden bench. "Mr. Nny?" Nny smiled at him being referred to as Nny. "Yes?" He replied sitting beside him. "What were your parents like?..." he asked looking at him with interest. "Oh.. um, well they were kind, generous, and respectful people. I think my dad was a writer and my mom was a painter. I was only five though when some escaped convict broke in and stabbed them to death..." he said trying not to tear up. "I wish they could've lived... they sound great." Nny smiled. "I wish you could've had parents like them." Todd wrapped his short arms around this thin waist. Nny then hesitantly wrapped an arm loosely around the boy. "It's honestly crazy that such a bright and kind kid spawned from such a revolting couple. I'd never kill them though... unless they pulled something major." Todd sighed in relief. "They've never done anything physically to me. They just hurt my feelings mostly... My dad never wanted me... and mom.. doesn't even know I'm her kid..."Nny grit his teeth. He already knew about it, but hearing how hurt the kid felt was killing him inside. "Well, I notice you and I like hanging out with you. I know I'm not the best friend, because I'm extremely unstable. But I would never try to hurt you mentally or physically.." Todd smiled softly earning him a smile in return.
"Do you want to go anywhere? God knows I'm broke as shit, but I do have some money." Todd smiled and thought. "Can we visit the pet store? I've seen the building , but I've never been inside. I wasn't ever allowed to have anything, because my parents don't want to have to take care of it or hear it." Nny rolled his eyes "bastards. We can look around if you'd like." They both got up and headed in the direction of the pet shop. Todd grinned and speed walked to the building with Nny following behind him.
