I opened my eyes to look into

the void

The void looks back.

Empty, vast, we two are

Silent

No sound between dry lips and teeth

Twin Fears are spiders down my

Spine

in the echo or the answer

Does lie my

Doom

If the answer to my plea reply

I the maker of my time

Youth

spent on sweet evil and

The bitter good I've wasted on

Glory

Short lived fleeting felt

The wrongs still stick as oily

dross

thickly across my skin

I taste the stink in the empty

Air

Hands extend forward searching

Dare to hope for respite or

Redemption

To who does it belong

The reciever or the

giver

Neither of those are here

Before the void my hands and soul

Stained

In regret and in my evil

I've earned no salvation

Unless

I speak and my ears answered

My own tones ring back an

Echo

Relief would swing sweetly first

I recieve no punishment except

This

Every breathless gasp

And note sung comes to

Nothing

Dreams granted and gifts squandered

Sweat I've bled and the tears I've

Screamed

My own cry may bounce back

No destiny no design no

Fate

That I would be here

Asking what is the greatest to

Fear

The echo or the answer

All of time spent in

Sorrow

Looking into the void

And the void looks back equally

Searching

And there is nothing to find

Because if there is only

Void

Then so am I
