CHAPTER TWO < Oreo

••••••••••••••••••••

The next morning seemed to be a blur up until nine thirty. Walking into the pizzeria out of the cold winter London air was refreshing. It felt like a new start. A new chapter in my life that I can't wait to explore.

Meeting Elsie at the front counter ready to work with my new uniform on she greeted me with a big cheesy smile and handed me some menus after I put my bag with my necessities in it. Out of the twenty two tables, I had table eleven
to twenty two.

Moving around the restaurant like a pro earring me heaps of points in Elise and Mr and Mrs Passantio books.

"You seem like an expert at this. Might even beat me to employee of the month!" Elsie placed her salad sandwich on the round red table after putting the closed sign up for our lunch break.

"Better watch your back!" I laughed digging into my six inch meatball sub that I quickly went to get from subway a couple minutes ago.

"Looks like you have competition Elsie!" Mrs Passantio joined us. "You girls can leave early today me and Mark are gonna have a couple of reserved tables for tonight that we can manage."

"Are you sure Mrs Passantio I mean I'm free all after noon" I questioned while Elsie look fine with the idea.

"Aribella how many times do I have to tell you to call me Anna! This better be the last time!"

"Yes Mrs Pass- Anna" I looked apologetically at her. She just glared at me while she walked over to Mark who was just dusting off the front counter.

"Nice save Ari" Mark chuckled at his wife which he earned a playful slap on the arm. "But you girls can leave now. And remember on Saturday to come at five o'clock, wearing dresses because we have a party to cater for that night" Mark said as he pushed us out the door with our bags.

After I said goodbye to Elsie realising that the bus comes later on when I actually finish work and I have no money for cab. Looks like I'm gonna have to walk home...Yay...lucky me...I hugged my coat tighter around me put my new sunglasses on and strutted down the sidewalk in a medium pace.

••••••••••••••••••••

It's still around midday maybe near one or two o'clock ish and I'm still walking home. But as I was walking...it happened all in a second and I stumbled to the concrete sidewalk. Breaking my heals in the process. The person that bumped me was as rude as a cactus.

"Watch where your going!" The deep voice of the mysterious man responded as he pushed past me and continued his way down the sidewalk.

"Rude" I rudely said at the mysterious man

I was stunned at how he could be so judgemental when he didn't know me. I quickly twisted my body to watch as he walked. He was wearing all black and brown torn boots and a blue beanie. Hopefully I will never see that guy again. I shivered thinking about him...weird. Anyways. Limping, I just kept on my journey home after getting up from the unhygienic concrete ground.

Barging into my home out of the cold with a broken heel and my arms full of mail was a struggle but I managed to get the key in the lock and turn it. I dropped all my stuff on the counter in the kitchen and headed to my room.

Mia wasn't back yet, obviously because it was the middle of the day. She works for this makeup and hair salon down town. She was really good at it. Always looking up the latest trends and creating new and improved hairstyles, much to my luck, on my hair. Yeah not my best decision. But I strictly told her not dying, cutting or adding without my permission.
