Ch 3: Good Morning!

Chapter 3:

**MORNING OF THE DANCE**

The theme of the dance was neon, and boy was I happy about that! The dance starts at 7, so I had the whole day to get through. I woke up to find my roommate, Erica, dancing all around.

"What are you doing?" I ask holding back my giggles as she waltzes all over the room.

"I'm practicing!" She explains in a posh tone.

"You obviously need it!" I chunk my pillow across the room at her. She dodges it and it hits a glass of water over.

"CRAP!!!" The water spilled all over her lamp causing it to smoke. She hurries over, and I jump out of bed trying to help.

"What do we do?!" I whisper yell hopping up and down. Nobody is up because its 6. Erica and I wake up early to shower before everyone else gets up and hogs the bathroom. We better not wake anyone up.

"Get some towels!" She says unplugging the lamp. I run out the door and into the bathroom. Luckily, there was a roll of paper towels sitting on top of the dispenser. Grabbing it, I turn on my heel and sprint back to our room.

"HERE!" I run her the towels. She wipes it up and everything stops smoking.

"Holy moly," Erica wipes her forehead, "that was crazy!" I crack a smile and then we just break out in laughter.

"Well I'm going to go shower! Don't break anything while I'm gone!" Picking up all my shower stuff, I shuffle towards the door.

"Hey! You were the idiot who threw the pillow!"

"But I didn't leave the water out!" I smirk and close the door. I'm really happy Erica is my roommate because we can joke around like that with each other. It's only been a week, but I already consider her my sister. Humming Cher Lloyd's Want U Back, I dance my way down the hallway.

"Having fun?" A familiar voice disturbs my moon walk by the boys stairs. Clumsily, I trip a little and then straighten up.

"Oh uh yah," I say looking up at the person, who turns out to be Hunter.

"Well if you're planning on using that move, you should probably learn to do it the correct way," Hunter walks downs the stairs.

"Like you could do any better! Oh and nice PJs!" I set down my stuff and cross my arms. Oh awkward, I forgot I'm in my PJs, too....

"Check this out little girl." Hunter lifts his plaid pants a little and moonwalks.

"Not bad... But can you handle this?" I start to dance around, using some silly moves and some pretty good ones. He soon joins me and we are just dancing around in the hallway. We stop panting a little. "Hunter, why are you even up? It's 6:45! No one even wakes up till 7!" I ask sitting down on the stair step.

"Oh well Robert and I heard shouting this morning and someone running around down here. I kinda assumed it was you, so I wanted to check it out," he explained sitting down next to me.

"Ohhhh well, you are a little late!" I laugh and then get up to grab my stuff.

"Yeah, I accidentally knocked over the stuff on Robert's desk. Then we just talked about tonight."

"Oh alright. Well I'm going to go shower so see you in class!"

All of a sudden, Elizabeth walks out of her room wearing a green skin mask.

"OH MY GOSH! I didn't know anyone was out here! This is embarrassing! I only do this so I don't break out in pimples!" Elizabeth tries to explain.

"Oh I have to go so bye guys," Hunter looks at me, and I can see he is holding back a laugh.

"Wow... All I do is embarrass myself in front of him," she sighs.

"It's ok! He doesn't think it's weird," I offer with a smile.

"I really wanna go to the formal with him, but I know that isn't for two weeks, but still. Maybe he'll ask me to dance tonight! What were y'all doing this morning? Y'all aren't dating are you?" She asks me panicked.

"Oh no! Just friends!" Her face relaxes as I explain this, "we were just talking earlier." We both head into the bathroom.
