The cruel light coming from the gap between the curtains made me open my eyes. I close them again and shifted facing the wall, ready to sleep for another hour.
But I have to wake up because, as much as I hate it, I have to use the bathroom. Ughhh!! If I had the energy I would roll my eyes at this fact.
I pull my tired body up and sat on my bed with my eyes closed.
After a minute or so I tried to walk towards my bathroom with my eyes closed.
I successfully reach the door and close it as lazily as I opened it. After I was done with my business and brushed my teeth I walk out of the bathroom.
I walked out of my room and straight toward the kitchen. I made some coffee. And walk towards the dinner table( which we occasionally use) in the drawing room. I drink half of my coffee there and the other half in the small balcony of our flat.
The fresh polluted morning air of Delhi always makes me fell like I smoke 2 cigarettes. Which was a fact.
I saw the beautiful sun shining on the people walking out of the building. All the people going out of the building have a story of their own and i try to imagine what they might be talking.
For example the group of old grandpa's who are going for their morning walk must have been talking about the government or the drop in 'sanskar' (values) in the past few decades.
The pair of uncles with their tummy out must be too tired to talk because they just finish their 2nd lap of the societies' garden. But I know what they are thinking. They are thinking if it is necessary to run 50 lap on the first day.
I am not a fortune teller but I can predict that the ' healthy habit ' of running in the morning that they have started is going to be forgotten in 3-4 days and they are going to ignore this topic like people ignore the name of ' you know who ' in the first book of Harry Potter series.
Annnd here comes my favourite group. The small group of aunties in their mid 50s.
You can never guess just what they are talking about. This group have more topic then the words in a dictionary.
They can be talking about their childrens for 3 laps then the topic of inflation would come out of nowhere followed by many other topics but they will all end up talking about their beloved 'saas' (mother in law). Note the sarcasm.
I finish my coffee and went back inside. I look at the blue wall clock in the drawing room which says it's 7 in the morning. I don't usually wake up at 6 am but when you are unemployed, sleeping at 8 PM and waking at 6 AM is not something to be surprised about.
I decided to make breakfast for us. I open the fridge which was almost empty. Hmmm seems like we have to go grocery shopping today. Luckily I found eggs and started to make omelet.
Half way of making I try to recall what day is it today. Remembering that today is Sunday and I am safe to eat eggs on sunday I continue mixing the batter. It was around 8 AM, I guess, that I finally finish making our breakfast.
I walk towards fareha's door and knock but I got no reply.
Yes I knock on the door of my bestfriend for 8 years and roommate for almost 4 years, because privacy matters and I don't want to see a scary scenario, so early in the morning, of her and her boyfriend that will be difficult to forget. I knock again but got no reply. I guess she partied hard last night.
I don't want to eat alone so I decided to wait. I decided to work on my novel. I am currently trying to write a thriller novel but looking in my boring life I have no inspiration whatsoever.
