Running from demons

Sean steps into the closet and shut the door behind him with silent precision and stealth. He crouches down, and shuffles further into the too-small closet, trying to sink through the hung up clothes and pass through the wall behind. It was a terrifying game of forced hide and seek and he knew that soon he'd be found, he just didn't know when.

'How long have I been running from him?' He wondered, biting his knuckle in paralyzing anxiety. The young males breathing was out of control, not particularly loud, as if he were experiencing a silent panic attack. His heart was just as erratic as his breathing, harsh and fast, he had no control of his heartbeat either. The claustrophobia of the tiny closet created an environment ten times worse.

His hands dug deep into his pockets, first his hoodie, then his jeans. Fishing for his phone to find help, but he knows his phone is in the Living room, downstairs, he doesn't want to believe his only possible source of help is so far away from his grasp. He knew there was no way he could risk trying to sneak downstairs to snatch his phone. Sean was beginning to regret dropping his phone in panic as he ran, but Darkiplier is a frightening sight, especially when he manifests in a cloud of smoke from behind the couch at 4:00 am. Sean was scared, and still understandably is. He lets out a disappointed exhale as tears threaten to build in his eyes.

Sean picks at his hoodie string, playing with it like a kitten would to a piece of yarn and trying to take himself away from his hopeless situation. 'Mark is somewhere possibly in trouble and I'm here running from his dark side.'

He leans back against the wall, his eye lids fluttering, shooting back open and fluttering again. 'I need to stay awake.' He told himself, pinching his cheek painfully to keep himself awake. 'Just a little longer, please.' His eyelids dropped once more and he suddenly found his body had no strength to open them again and soon fell asleep against his will. If only his body allowed him to avoid sleep for a few seconds longer, he would have heard light footsteps coming in his direction.

The sound was faint, almost as silent as a hiccup, but the demon's superhuman hearing managed to pick up the noise easily. Dark follows the sound of light snoring and eventually discovers the guest bedroom, and the fragile guest sleeping in the closet too. The older male pressed his ear to the door, confirming that the poor little Irishman was inside.

He takes hold of the handle and quietly opens it. He finds a curled up figure behind a neatly stacked pile of shirts, sleeping. He stares for a few minutes; his mind runs rampant with torturous ideas, most of them ending with a stab to the Irishman's chest. And when he finally settles on a perfect plan, Sean opens his eyes.

Soft baby doll eyes travelled up to meet Dark's soulless black eyes and he almost screamed. His reflexes worked into overdrive as he shifted back into the wall of the closet, realising he was trapped he wanted to cry.

"All I'm asking for is one small favour Sean." Dark purred, stepping closer to the cowering male. His hand is dragging against the wall, his sharp nails creating deep scratches in the wall for added effect.

"N-no!" Sean stammered. "I'm not letting him take over, leave me alone!" He kicked out with his socked feet as the demon got closer. Dark watched over him with a smirk and with unexplained speed managed to pin the younger male's legs under his foot, Sean tried to pull his legs back but they felt paralysed.

He suddenly had an idea, most likely an idiotic one that might get him killed later on, but maybe there's a chance it will give him a chance to run. Sean grabs a random sneaker and throws it towards Dark's head, hoping it will hit him. It didn't. Dark's hand moved quickly and caught the shoe before it could hit his face, he tosses the shoe behind and the colour drains from Sean's face.

He looked up at him, his face turned to confusion. "What...what do you even want with Anti anyway?"

"Why don't I just show you, since you are being so stubborn." Dark lifted his foot and unpinning Sean's legs, he tried to make a break for it but the older demon just picked him up causing him to stop struggling, fearing that Dark will try to drop him down the stairs if he attempts to make a run for it again. Dark carries the younger male out of the closet; Sean lets out a yelp as he's carelessly dropped on the bed, bouncing above the thick comforter.

His mind runs wild, thinking of all the things Dark is going to go to him. He tries to sit up but is quickly pushed down by a hand on his chest, he accepts whatever is going to happen next, too tired and frightened to escape. He watches as Dark snaps his fingers and with an unexplained force the bedroom curtains close and the lights dim, creating a cosy environment that would have been idyllic to watch Netflix with snacks on a Saturday night, if only demons weren't trying to hunt Sean down for his own counterpart.

The younger male looks back towards Dark, his face twists into confusion when he notices that the demon's clothing has transformed from his black suit to a casual pair on sweatpants and a shirt, similar to what Sean was wearing himself.

Dark climbs onto the bed next to Sean, suddenly making Sean fear the worst possible scenario. Instead of what he expected, Dark lay down next to him, wrapping his arms around the younger male, putting his face into the crook of his neck. This was certainly not what Sean was expecting, a harsh blush quickly spread across his face as he pulled the duvet over them both.

"This is what I wanted with your counterpart, I assume you don't realise why he constantly asks to be let out." Dark whispers.

Sean smiles, shifting around to face Dark and kissing him on the lips sweetly. Dark was caught off guard, but lovingly kissed back. As Sean pulls away from the kiss and looks into the older demon's black eyes he realises that, maybe, Dark is not completely out to kill him.
