Rina sat in silence after her little incident, trying to look as inconspicuous and small as possible, which wasn't a hard task considering how both Ten and Lucas were fairly larger than her.
She, however, seemed to be failing regardless, as she had made uncomfortable eye-contact with Yuta is the rear view mirror several times, soon coming to realize that the man was frequently glancing over to her in concern.
That led her to feel mildly touched, then guilty for having made a scene, proceeding to then scold herself for feeling guilty about having a terrible flashback. To distract her from this painstakingly annoying process, she glanced out the window, realizing that they were speeding down a road.
Unknowingly, she shifted closer to Ten to get a better look, causing the black-haired male to turn and give her a surprised yet soft smile.
She had never been allowed to step foot outside her home without supervision. It took her a long time to allow her father to let her out of the house till the forests, and then she spent eight years in a cold cell. She only dreamed of what lay beyond the boundaries of Limitless was like.
It was dark, nighttime, with blurry streetlights and plants that were barely visible whizzing by. Old, dingy shops popped up occasionally in her line of sight. She heard a soft chuckle, and shifted her eyes in Ten's direction, watching as a beautiful smile formed on his lips. She shook her head, looking back. To him, all of this would seem normal, but to her, it was fascinating.
Too soon, the car stopped. She flinched as Lucas tapped her shoulder lightly, gesturing for her to follow him out of the car. He held the door open for her as she got out, before slamming it shut. She watched him stretch his arms over his head and roll his head, realizing just how stiff her body felt as well.
"Are you okay now?" He turned his green eyes onto her, looking over her face. She smiled faintly, an image of Young Ho popping up in her mind, but she blinked and nodded. A loud voice caught their attention.
Rina turned, noticing the two short yet large towers built close to each other, a gap big enough for a large vehicle to fit through left between them. Three thick beams of red light blocked the gap. There were two windows just above the topmost beam, of which the lights had been switched on, and from one of them, leaned out a man, a brilliant smile on his face.
He disappeared from the window, seemingly making his way down the tower. Sure enough, he walked out of one of the towers, making for Sicheng and Yuta, who stood in front of their car.
Ten stood a little further away, right beside the car door he had exited from, his hand casually placed on the handle. He looked ready to bolt back into the car from the way he apprehensively looked at the newcomer.
Turning his head, he made eye contact and offered her a wink, make her blink in surprise, heat rushing to her face as she looked away.
Lucas scoffed, shaking his head at Rina's reaction. "Ten is a huge flirt, so do be careful." He said, patting Rina's head. "Anyways, I just wanted to make sure you were good. I didn't know about your brother."
She shrugged. Not many people did.
"I," Lucas paused, looking down at her. "I've lost a few people myself, so if you ever want to talk about it- oh wait, that was a stupid thing to say." He made an exasperated noise, dragging his hand down his face. She grinned, standing on her toes and patting his head.
He rolled his eyes at her, a small smile on his face as it registered how small she was.
Rina then pointed discreetly to the man talking to Yuta and Sicheng, looking questioningly at Lucas.
