Chapter 11
I awake to the shuddering of the plane and Jesse whispers into my ear, "We're landing." I groan and bury my face deeper into his chest, trying to avoid the morning light streaming in through the tiny window. My body aches and I release another groan.
He chuckles and says, "Love, you might want to get dressed."
"My body hurts," I grumble childishly. He chuckles again and I hear the pop of a wine bottle. Instantly, the smell of blood fills the air. My nose immediately rises into the air, my eyes shooting open and looking for the bottle.
I see Jesse and he smiles. The bottle is in his hand and my eyes zero in on it. I snatch it quickly from him and take large gulps. I empty the bottle within sixty seconds and wipe my mouth with the back of my hand.
My body quickly starts to lose the achy feeling and then it completely disappears. I am wide awake now and energized. I look around the room and everything is so detailed.
I can see each fiber in the sheets and I can see the splinters on the door. I can still smell the blood in the air, as well as taste it on my tongue. I can feel the slow breeze of the AC as it brushes across my skin. I can hear every inhale of air that Jesse takes and I look to him.
His eyes sparkle in the morning light, and I smile. I have a very attractive husband, but it's not like it wasn't obvious already.
Jesse chuckles at me and I remember that he can read minds. I blush bright red and look away. He brings his lips to my ear and whispers "Don't be ashamed."
"Never said I was," I reply quickly and look back into his eyes. I give him a peck on the lips and he smiles.
"I'll see you in a moment," he says and stands. He walks to the door, throws me a smile, and closes the door behind him.
I throw my feet onto the side of the bed and stand. I go over to my suitcase and dig through it for something to wear. Another good thing about being married is you get a really nice new wardrobe.
I find a white tee shirt and a pair of light brown shorts. I throw those on and find a pair of black converse. I smile, remembering that they were my favorite shoes when I was younger, and slide them on.
I run my brush through my messy hair, untangling the knots. My hair is very frizzy, so I decide to throw it into a messy side bun. I go back to my suitcase and grab my toothpaste and toothbrush.
I walk over to the door and swing it open. I wet my toothbrush, put on toothpaste, and begin scrubbing away the plaque.
As I brush my teeth, I examine myself in the mirror. I still look the same, but my eyes are greener. Like, WAY greener. They are almost a soft light green that could probably be seen from a mile away. There are flecks of gold sprinkled throughout the green, and they make my eyes shimmer.
My eyelashes seem to have grown slightly longer, accenting my eyes. My eyebrows look like they've been waxed, which I have never done. They are perfectly arched, giving me a more adult look. My cheekbones look to be a little bit higher up, and my lips look a little fuller. My jawline is more defined, accenting my neck as well, which also happens to be looking quite desirable.
