.:Bomi:.
The fresh air lingers next to me as I wake up on a Saturday morning. My schedule was to sleep in today but my cat, Carnatia kept tickling my feet to wake me up.
Carnatia suddenly pounced onto me and patted my nose with her paw.
"What is up with you today?" I asked Carnatia, not expecting an answer.
She kept tugging on my sleeve. She never does that. Carnatia then jumped onto my bedside table. There's nothing there, only my clock that read 10:32.
Then I noticed it. A light pink envelope with dark pink patterns on it. I took it and looked at it for a while. On the back of the envelope, my name was written. The pattern on it looks familiar. It's like I've seen it before at school. No. It couldn't be.
I quickly got out of bed and showered. Then I put on my clothes and got ready for the day. After a that, I ran downstairs, carrying the letter with me.
"Mom! What is this?!" I shouted while running down the stairs.
"What?" I heard her say from the kitchen.
I ran to her and showed her the pink envelope. Her eyes widened at the sight of it.
"We got a letter last night for you so I put it at your bedside table but I never actually bothered to look at it," Mom said, still amazed. "Well, read it."
I tore open the envelope and read the letter.
.:Eunji:.
Once I got to the town square I placed down my basket and got ready for the morning performance. I hoped I got more money than usual because our food supply is running short.
As usual, a few people were already gathered, awaiting my performance.
Last night, I practiced the song 'Ice Queen' but Trish Thuy Trang. It has been my favourite song for the past few months now. But I only do get to hear it when I pass the ice skating rink on my way home.
I did a few vocal warm ups and practiced the lyrics in my head. When I was sure that I was ready I started the first line of the song.
When I got to the ending of the song, I tried very hard to remember the lyrics. This was the part when I forget the lyrics. I then remembered the card in my pocket. I reached for it and read it. The words were now stuck in my head and I got to finish the song.
The crowd cheered and dropped coins into my basket. It was just the usual payment today. I was kind of disappointed.
As I was getting ready to leave, I saw my mother in the crowd of people. She was very beautiful if you look at her properly. If it weren't for her clothes and her always messy hair she would be a fashion model right now.
"Eunji! I've got exciting news for you!" my mother shouted. I pulled my hood up to cover my face from the shining sun.
Mother was holding a pink envelope with patterns on it. I've seen those textures before.
"That can't be it, right?" I asked when she already was in front of my face.
"See for yourself," she tittered, handing me the envelope.
I took it and opened the mouth. The white piece of paper inside felt smooth against my fingers as I read it.
.:Namjoo:.
The meadow at the back of my house that I always played in was even beautiful than before today. In fact, it was the most beautiful as I've ever seen it before. Could this mean something very good was going to happen to me today?
