"Hey...."
"What was that about?"
"Oh, this girl. Quinn. She's all about my flaws and insecurities right now. Even though she's wanted to be me. All of our lives." You see that. That right there. I didn't want to tell him. But I told him anyway. And he. Well he just listened to me, it was nice. I don't usually get the chance talk and actually be listened to. It was nice. I poured my heart out about that day. And I've never felt so happy in my whole life. I know it's crazy to be so attached to someone you just met but if you where were I am you would be too. It was so silent and serious until Zach came back with.
"Oh imma beat a bitch up!" I laughed at his reference.
"Language child"
"Wow... I'm not a child I am 18 years of age thank you!"
"Well I was going to still call you a child but in England you're an adult if you're 18. Plus you're older than me so..."
"Oh... that's the accent!"
"What?!?"
"I was trying to figure out your accent. It's English by the way."
"Yeah I figured as much. Anyway I just reached my house and my mams home so I gotta go so bye.."
"Bye gorgeous!" That was the last thing he said as he hung up. And it truly made my day! Making me walk into the house with a smile on my face. "Hey mam!"
"Hi, honey. You've got the house to yourself tonight ok?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Well I'm working all night as always. So is joe and jaz is staying over a friends."
"Ok..." with that a small smile crept onto my face. I had an idea. And it was a BOLD one...
"Why are you smiling?"
"Oh nothing. Have fun at work mam!" I reached for a hug but she was out the door before I could get to her. As soon as her car disappeared down the street I got out my phone. And you already know who I'm texting.

Sidekick jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: Hey... fancy coming on facetime...

Snorkel boi: coming from the girl who just now told me she didn't want to FaceTime.

Sidekick jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: because I was shopping. Fine I'll FaceTime Harper or Hannah or Noah.

Snorkel boi: I'm offended that you have other friends!

Sidekick Jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: yes I do. Bye.

Snorkel boi: no no wait wait come back! I wanna FaceTime!

Sidekick jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: I knew it!

Then the FaceTime screen popped up. It made me kind of scared yet very excited. And then his face popped up. Hey was pulling a weird face, making me laugh so much I forgot about what happened that day.
"Jess..."
"Yeah."
"You know you're wrong right?"
"What?"
"You're wrong. They're wrong. Anybody who thinks you're ugly is wrong. You are... the most gorgeous person I've ever seen. Don't forget that. Please."
"Oh. Wow. You're really something else aren't you snorkel boi." After I finished my sentence we were in fits of laughter for the whole night. I dared him to jump in the pool and he did. He said it was just because 'a smile looks great on me' and I did smile, but not because he jumped into the pool, (however amusing it may have been.) it was because of what he said moments before. We talked for so long we ended up falling asleep on call with each other.
"Morning?" I asked through the phone to see if he was awake. He rolled over and reached for his phone, it felt almost as if he was reaching for me. It sparked something inside of me. Lighting me up like a firework. After a few more stupid chats about how stupid we were to fall asleep on FaceTime or how he was still soaking from jumping in the pool. Until we ended it so I could get ready for school. The thought of going back there made me want to cry. Although moments after arriving I got sent a text.
Snorkel boi: READ. THIS. NOW.

That image was tour dates for his band. They were coming to my state very soon and he asked me to meet him there. This left a smile on my face for the majority of the day. "What's up with you." Noah questioned my sudden up beat step and enthusiastic smile. He knew me so well that it bugged me I couldn't tell him that I know a member of the band he clear likes so much. Or how I got to go to a show and he didn't even though he deserves it more. In response I just stayed silent. Their show was weeks away but I have social anxiety so bad. I also don't really know them or their music. So I politely told Zach...

Sidekick Jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: hey, I know you might've gone through some trouble to try and get me into the sold out show (congrats by the way) but I don't really like being in a crowd of lots of people. Plus I'm really new to your music and don't want to look out of place. But if you want, I'll text you my address and you can drop by after the show... sorry again 💖

He's so sweet. However I usually can't cope without Noah. He's been my safety net since we were so small. Not telling him feels like the worst thing about it.

Snorkel boi: sounds great, wish you'd see me preform but as long as I see you.

Snorkel boi: it's on October 28th. I mean it's in London but I don't know how close you are. To that.

Sidekick Jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: well I'm from Brighton but I can come get you after the show. It's about two hours normal traffic.

Snorkel boi: omg... what why would you drive that.

Sidekick Jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: I mean you want me to see you right?

Snorkel boi: so are you going to drive there and back.

Sidekick Jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: no I'm probs going to stay in a hotel.

Snorkel boi: 😂 or not the bus...

Snorkel boi: no... hows about I get to you?

Sidekick Jess 🦸🏻‍♀️: oh really how.

Snorkel boi: I can drive you know.
