I start walking to the ski-lift. I didn't really want to come on this trip alone but both Tonya and Carrie were busy. They had to do something for their parents, I think. Or maybe it was for school. Who knows? It's them. They do too many things to keep up with.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they just didn't want to come so they made excuses. They are the types of friends you can tell them anything and trust them, but can't rely on plans with them. Like now.
I'm in Michigan. I had to come up here for Christmas break. Something about how I have family up here I never see. I guess they finally decided they wanted to see me. After 18 years of me existing, they only decide to see me now.
I break away from my thoughts. My family pissed me off, and me being me decided to come to the ski-lift. I've always found skiing and hockey comforting and stress relieving. I also find punching a punching bag stress relieving. I do that so often I've worked up a pretty good punch.
I realize how many people are actually here, at least one to two hundred people. I get in line behind some guy, but I ignore him, along with everyone else. I get on my phone and check my Snap.
Chad snapped me. I open it to see a picture of him with a frowning face and his eyes closed. I smile at his expression, then look at the caption, I can't wait for you to get back home, oh the things we'll do ;).
My smile goes away and I frown. I take a selfie of myself and caption it, can't wait :). Chad isn't my boyfriend, he's more of my friends with benefits.
He started acting more like a boyfriend for a while, I was so happy. I really liked him, but didn't want to tell him. Then, he just started caring about my body, it made me so upset. I didn't want to come out of my room for a week. He thought I went out of town that week. Shows how much he pays attention.
I open my next Snap. It's from our group chat between Tonya, Carrie and I. I see a picture of each of them with their boyfriends, making my frown even more visible. I type up a quick response, then put my phone away.
I step forward to fill the small gap between the guy in front of me and I. When I do, I step in a small divot in the ground and almost trip. I fall towards the guy, accidentally pushing him slightly. The guy notices, turns around, and grabs my waist, keeping me from falling down completely.
"I'm so sorry," I apologize, covering my face with my hands, embarrassed.
He lets out a light deep chuckle that's so insanely hot that it almost makes me melt, "No worries. It could've been worse, you could've had hot chocolate in your hand and spilt it on me. That's happened before, and it did not feel nice." So he's here often, and has a northern accent. Probably lives here, genius.
"Ouch. I would've hit the person," I laugh, but am slightly serious. I uncover my face, but look down at the snow on the ground.
He laughs, "You can't exactly do that when it's family."
I gasp, "That's all the more reason to do it! Hit them even harder!" I laugh, making him laugh.
"If only my family worked that way. In mine, if you hit one another you get disowned."
"Oh, wow. My brother and I would've been disowned by the time I was 3 then," I say seriously. Cody and I sometimes get along, but at the same time don't. We can be real and serious with each other, but if it's drama we'll snitch on each other. We also get into tons of fights.
"You have a brother?" He asks, his voice quivering a little.
"Yeah," I smile. Is he scarred of them? "I have an older one and then a younger one."
