"That's enough, Kotori. I've had enough of this. I want a divorce," Umi spilled the fierce words without hesitation which gave Kotori a hard time to deal with. Umi already turned her back to her, unable to witness what her wife was doing to draw her attention.
Kotori's hands clenched her chest, her puppy eyes swam in tears as she swallowed her words in. She rushed to her kid for an immediate hug to pacify the pestering feelings.
" UMI-CHAN WANTS A DIVORCE, DOUSHI YO!?"
The little Honks froze for a moment, she then set off her fake cries over her papa's demand. Umi looked back finally and she scooted closer to her this time.
"Honoka, I know this shouldn't be said nor should you witness such a rift between your mother and me, but..."
Umi stopped wording her thoughts when she got a sad sight of Kotori, whose eyes brimmed with tears. Does that mean Umi hadn't noticed by now? As expected of Umi take-action-no-emotion Sonoda. She handed the Monopoly money over Kotori to pay her rent, then she backed off from the game and curled up on the couch like a baby.
Kotori and Honoka marked this day as their first victory in the board game against papa-husband Sonoda. There were no words to describe by Umi though, so the two Sonoda stroked her back and lifted her up to see her face.
"Kotori, next time I won't marry you," Umi stated, a small smile formed on her lips. Even after getting so serious pushed her to this point and she just chuckled, with her hand over her mouth.
"I think I'm fine with how we are, Umi-chan. I can't stand at the thought of being far from you so don't even make that joke ever again," Kotori said with a silky voice that hadn't completely hidden the thick layer of bittersweet tone.
But her lips met with Umi's to dispel any bitter thoughts, much to her surprise.
Honoka tugged at Kotori's sleeve after they broke apart for a gulp of breath. "I shouldn't be biased but I've to take papa's side as of today. You won the game but she won your heart. We actually know who wins."
Kotori let out a sigh and nodded in agreement. Her heart fluttered even more as Umi kissed her forehead and brought Honks between them as if they were portraying a family photoshoot.
Kotori shot a sidelong glance with a devious grin on her face, already devising another plan to lure her into her own needs. "That's enough, Umi-chan. I've had enough of this. I want a honeymoon!"
Umi was left baffled, this time she couldn't find the urge to fight back and fainted in her place.
Maybe the little Honks shouldn't bet on her poor papa if Kotori has the upper-hand for any romantic progress.
"Aaah I love my family."
