Chapter 02
A letter from the Fair Folk
"I made soup" Cristina announced proudly as Emma and Jules entered the kitchen.
Emma liked Cristina's cooking, but Emma always had trouble trusting people's cooking after the stories she heard of Isabelle Lightwoods cooking from Clary Fairchild.
"Its not nice" Ty said stubbornly exiting the room.
"Tiberius is just mad because I told him it would be a bad idea to make Diana's room into a bee sanctuary" Cristina looked sadly after Tys exit.
"Serve me up" Emma grinned as a bowl of soup was placed in front of her.
"Eat quickly we're going soon" Jules said while he was stuffing soup into his mouth.
The parabatai were patrolling because over the past few months bodies have been found and to prevent that from happening the Los Angeles Institute were patrolling the area.
-
There was a nice breeze outside blowing softly against Emma's hair. The parabatai were patrolling Santa Monica Pier and already have met some IMP demons.
"Would Ty really turn Diana's room into a bee sanctuary?" Emma mused as she picked up some seashells off the sand. She used to like the beach but ever since she was twelve the beach brings nothing but bad memories but she still does go surfing with Jules occasionally.
"I don't know anymore" Jules replied, his voice sounded faraway Emma turned to look at him and a smile grew on her face as she saw that he was laying down on the sand, looking up at the stars. Emma walked over and lay beside him.
"I missed the sky" Emma murmured quietly.
"It never went anywhere Ems" Jules answered slowly, she turned head to look at him and saw that he was closing his eyes, she probably should wake him since they were on a job BUT he looked so peaceful.
"Maybe I did." And with that said she jumped up and walked down to the water.
-
"You still should have woken me up, what if you got hurt?" Jules was still arguing with Emma over her not waking him after a mundane couple walked along the beach, a KAPPA demon tried to take them and Emma fended the demon off.
"Well I wasn't and the mundanes looked pretty shaken up." Emma replied happily she felt, so alive and she didn't understand why Jules was so angry.
"What if I was the one who didn't wake you up? you'd be pretty upset wouldn't you." Jules said stubbornly
"okay I'd be upset as well." They just reached the Institute's entrance when Dru came running up.
"Emma, Julian something's wrong with Uncle Arthur!!!" Dru sounded out of breath.
The parabatai shared worried looks and hurried after Drusilla.

"What's wrong?"Julian asked as soon as they got to the library where Arthur and the rest of the Blackthorns were.
"Everybody leave except for Diana and Julian, and Cristina will you call for Helen?" Arthur looked very pale but his voice was firm.
Emma was surprised that she wasn't allowed stay, she refused to move and looked straight into Arthur's eye.
Cristina, Ty, Livvy, Dru and Tavvy left.
"Is there something wrong Emma?" Arthur asked confused.
"No" Emma made her way over to a chair that sat in front of the library's desk.
Arthur opened his mouth to argue but Julian interrupted "Emma is my parabatai and she will be included in this conversation"
"Fine" Arthur was tired and he knew it would be no good to disagree "We will wait until Helen comes to resume the topic."
As if on cue Helen burst into the library panting "....Was... supposed to be a surprise....Cristina...called. What's wrong?"
"Hello Helen" Diana said smiling at Helen
"Hi" Helen looked extremely happy and then she noticed the sad expression on Arthur and her face dropped "Is there something wrong uncle?"
"This morning I received a letter from the Fair Folk" His voice was grave.
Emma's throat closed and she noticed Helen and Julian pale.
"And it said?" Diana asked worry plastered across her face.
"It said" Arthur cleared his throat and began to read his voice booming across the library "To Arthur Blackthorn, head of the Los Angeles Institute: We bestow you once more on a matter of great importance. As you know, in past months, the marked and mutilated bodies of both our people and yours have been found all around the city of Los Angeles. This is your domain, and so once again we humble ourselves before you and ask for aid. After the events of the Dark War, the Fair Folk no longer fall under your protection and the protection of the Accords, but still we hope. It is case for Faerie to admit itself to be desperate, but we are desperate now. If you will not give us justice, then at least perhaps you will bargain with us. Investigate the deaths of our people and we will grant you the return of your nephew, the brother of your children now living in your house. The Wild Hunt does not give back what belongs to it, but we will give Mark Blackthorn back to you. We await your words."
"Oh Mark" Emma heard Helen whisper.
Okay I know I said I wouldn't put authors notes at the end and that I wouldn't update until tomorrow and that the update would be longer but I decided I'd put this up today. I'm sorry if you don't understand this story but I'm trying my best and I still have to include the relationship between all of the children, Diana, Emma, Cristina and Arthur. If you guys have any ideas please tell me!!
okay
peace¥
