                                                         Jade's P.O.V

I was vulnerable, unable to escape their strong grasp.  My lack of self defense skills didn't help me at all in this situation.  I was kicking and hitting blindly, hoping I would hit someone. I wasn't successful.

With force, they shoved me onto the pavement.  I used this as a chance to run away, and made an attempt to escape.  I didn't make it very far before being yanked backward and pushed back down again.  Shoes connected with my ribs and my stomach, causing me to curl up in a fetal position on the ground.

Up until this point, I had been trying to get away, but now I didn't care.  I wanted this all to end. I let them hurt me over and over, hoping I wouldn't have to suffer much longer.

Please, just let it be over, I pleaded as I took more kicks to my ribs.  My eyes shifted towards the star filled sky, I wanted it to be the last thing I saw.  The view came across as beautiful to me, but maybe it was only because I was going to die soon.

Tears began to build up in my eyes as I was reminded of who I was going to leave behind.  My sister, Emma, would be crushed, I couldn't leave her.  Dylan, the one I loved,  the one who left me; I didn't want to leave him. Even if I meant nothing to him, he still meant the world to me.

I kept looking at the sky, the only thing that was giving me hope.  The world around me went in and put of focus as I drifted in and out of consciousness.  A throbbing pain echoed throughout my entire body.  Why am I not dead yet? I should be dead

All at once, I could no longer hear their taunting voices, or feel the pain of feet colliding with my body.  They must have left me here. Left me here to die.

Using the small amount of strength I had left, I sat up, wincing at the pain that came with this action.  As I had assumed before, they were nowhere in sight.  I clumsily stood up, concentrating hard on the task.

I clung to the brick wall next to me for support as I tried calling for help.  All that came out was a raspy whisper, even I didn't recognize it at first. I forced my limbs to cooperate as I used every ounce of my strength to stay up.

Everything was swaying, due to my dizziness, making it difficult for me to see clearly.  A part of me wanted to just close my eyes and never open them again, but the stubborn part of me wouldn't give up.

An unfamiliar voice called out from behind me; I couldn't understand what they were saying.  I turned around, letting them know I could hear them, still steadying myself against the wall.

"What's your name? Do you need help", he said, supporting me with his arm.  I then became aware of the ringing in my ears, and the way his voice stood out against the static.

I stared into his eyes, a beautiful haze color.  Forget the night sky, I wanted his eyes to be the last thing I saw.

"I'm going to get you to a hospital, okay?"

I moved my head in what I hoped was a nod, but I couldn't really tell.  I was too dizzy to concentrate, the lights were getting dim.  I felt like I was floating, but that was because he was carrying me.

Everything around me was disappearing, slowly going out of focus.  I knew it was almost the end for me.

I was aware of the world around me, but I felt detached from it, now.  Everything is fading away into nothingness, and there's nothing I could do about it.

Goodbye, I said to myself as I finally allowed the darkness to take over.
