Chapter 2 - Highschool

Simon's P.O.V.

My name is Simon. Ten years ago aliens from the planet Atria invaded our planet. Most humans saw it as an attack, I did not see it that way. Ten years ago I had met an Atrian boy who risked his life to save mine.

Today is my first day back at high school the same time that seven Atrians will be coming to that same high school.

As I ran down the streets police cars and military cars follow around every corner. Our town has gone mad and hundreds of citizens are sitting outside of the school protesting against the Atrians. They call them Tatties because each Atrian has their own unique marks that they were born with.

Right now I'm heading to the hospital to meet up with my friend who used to be my roommate at the hospital. His name is JJ and he is my best friend in the world. All I want is for him to get better.

"Hey there bestie!" I yell as I run into his room.

"Hey there former roomie who now has decided to become my physical trainer." He says as I roll my eyes.

"You always said that you wanted someone to stretch with." I said as he then rolls his eyes.

"Yeah, a hot chick with big boobs. Not my former roommate." He said as I then heard the TV going off.

"Everyone is standing outside of Montgomery High protesting against the Atrians joining the school. Nox, head Atrian is supporting the new Atrian students one of them being his son." The news reporter said as it then skipped to Nox and the seven Atrians getting on the bus.

"Of course you would be going back to school the same time that the Atrians are going." JJ said laughing.

"Hopefully it won't be too crazy." I said scared of what commotions will be going on.

"Are you kidding? You are so lucky! You get to meet actual Atrians." He said with a big grin.

JJ has always had an obsession with the Atrians. It all started when he found out about a herb that they have called cyper that has magic healing powers.

"I will never understand you and your obsession with the Atrians. They are just people." I said as he shook his head.

"From another planet with completely different history and culture. They're amazing and hot." He said as I laughed.

"They look exactly like us just with marks." I said as he nodded his head in excitement.

"Yeah, and that's what makes them fucking hot." He said as I broke out laughing.

I then went over to his desk and that's when I saw discharge papers, "why didn't you tell me about this?"

"It's not a big deal." He said brushing it off.

"It means that you are better. Soon you are going to be able to go to school with Ethan and I. This is amazing!" I said excitedly as he looked down towards his hand.

"It's not like that Simon. The chemo isn't working. Nothing is." He said as I shook my head.

"You are not giving up." I said as he looked at me with disappointment.

"I'm not giving up. I don't care about the throwing up, the random strands of hair in the bed, that constant beeping and prodding. What I can't stand is seeing my parents hope go up for it then to be crushed." He said as my heart sunk.

-Ten Minutes Later-

After visiting JJ I got ready for school and met up with one of my mates Ethan. He's a part of a club where they would come and visit the hospital and do arts and crafts with the kids. He has a lot in common with JJ and I so we are now just a group. We do everything together. That's why he is going to be by my side the entire day back to school.

As we walked up to the school Ethan held me close because of all of the protestors. The Red Hawks to be exact. Those who believe that the Atrians are here to take over and kill each and every single one of us.

As we entered the school a girl caught my eye. She had short brownish blonde hair and a gorgeous tan and a stunning smile. She looked like a goddess.

"That's Talia. She hangs out with all the "it" kids but she's not like that. She's pretty chill. She really just got caught up with it all because she's part of cheerleading." Ethan said as I nodded my head as he told me more about everyone and everything at the school.

He told me all the crazy gossip and rumours, who to hang with and who not to. He told me everything that I probably didn't need to know but he was always into this stuff so I allowed it. That was until a girl interrupted us.

"The Atrian seven are here!" She yelled as everyone ran to the south entrance to see the seven Atrians that would be roaming the halls this year.

Ethan grabbed my hand and we followed. Little did I know that one of these Atrians would change my world completely.
