"N..Nothing" I said while looking down

As It was time to decide who would go 

"I think the ones who have the courage to this should step forward" Lili announced 

I stood there but didn't know if I should join or not 

"I'm in" Emily said with every couarg she had "It's fine if you don't want to Alex" Emily said with care like she wouldn't blame me. 

"Oka-" but then I heard behind me 

"⊑⍜⍙ ⏃⏚⍜⎍⏁ ⍙⟒ ☍⟟⌰⌰ ⌇⍜⋔⟒ ⍜⎎ ⏁⊑⟒⋔, ⏁⊑⟒ ⍙⟒⏃☍ ⍜⋏⟒⌇ ⏃⋏⎅ ☍⟒⟒⌿ ⌇⍜⋔⟒ ⎎⍜⍀ ⍜⎍⍀⌇⟒⌰⎐⟒⌇" One of them Laughed  to the other solider 

"⏚⎍⏁ ⍙⊑⏃⏁ ⏃⏚⍜⎍⏁ ⏁⊑⟒ ☍⟟⋏☌?" One said with curiously 

"⊑⟒ ⎅⍜⟒⌇⋏'⏁ ⋏⟒⟒⎅ ⏁⍜ ☍⋏⍜⍙" He laughed and then they all started to laugh. I looked at The King and I knew he knew what they said but didn't care. 

"Okay, I'll come along with you" I said angrily and glared at the Cyrol and they shot back a bit. 

"Okay It has been decided" The King said

"Wait" Emily shouted "You have studied humans have you not?" 

"Yes" The King announced 

"Then you know we aren't that good at seeing in the night" Emily spoke to him 

"I do know that" The King smiled "Is this going somewhere?" The King asked with a smile on his face like he knew what Emily was getting at.

"I know your not going to tell us anything about you or your men so at least let us do this tomorrow when it's light" Emily requested 

"No, it's more fun to do it now and just think about it won't the light give you away?" The King said cunningly 

"please allow us to" Emily asked once again 

"Fine" The King signed 

"Thank - you" Emily said with joy appearing on her face

"But" The King smiled 

"But?" Emily's smile started to fade

"But you will have to get on your knees and beg and then prepare two sacrifices for tonight" The King Laughed 

Everyone went silent "You, Your a monster" Emily shouted she pulled out a knife that I had give her to carry for protection and ran up to him "Don't!" I shouted but it was too late she had already slit some of his face but then right in front of everyone eyes it healed and he grabbed her hand and threw her to the ground "Emily" I shouted. 

"Oh no, You will have to pay for that with your life maybe or something else" As he eyed up her body. 

"Don't you dare" Chris called out 

"Oh I wouldn't touch a disgusting human" The King went on and on 

"please" I said "Please let her go" Chris begged

 I thought to myself "this is the first time I've hearded Chris beg for anything"

"Wait no don't do this, AL-" Emily said before getting her mouth covered 

"Umm, what will you do for her freedom?" Th king said intreged 

"I will.. I'll take her place, I'll take her punishment, if you let her go" Chris gulped

"And If I was to say No?" The King In tensed 

"Then It would be a no but then you would have declared war and no one would play the game" I replied with every little confidence I had and stood up saying "Also it would be no fun and that's what you came here for right?" 

Chris looked at me like he believed in me that I could get her out.

"Very well, let her go" The King said with a wave to the guards 

"⏚⎍⏁ ⌇⟟⍀!" One of them moaned 

"Are you defying me?" The King said with a range 

"⋏⍜ ⋏⍜, ⍜⎎ ☊⍜⎍⍀⌇⟒ ⋏⍜⏁ ⌇⟟⍀" He said with a panic and quickly letting Emily go. 

I caught Emily when she was about to fall and asked "Are you alright?" 

Emily burst into tears and just cried in my arms and we fell to the floor, I stroked her hair to make her calm down "Don't worry I promised your family that I would make sure nothing happened to you" I said softly 

"Well now , Let the games begin I will select who goes out" The King announced 

"But you said you would let us choose" Lili pleaded 

"I did yes but now I change my mind all those who have decided to go can still go but I would like a couple more people of my choice to go" The King smiled once again
