"Clone Jutsu!" Kyoko yelled and made the hand signs corresponding with the Jutsu. As she said this, she focused as hard as she could on the little details of herself. From her medium length brown ponytail to her baggy black and yellow pants. She opened her eyes and took a look beside her to see two identical versions of herself.

"Perfect," Iruka-Sensei said and after some deliberation, he announced, "congratulations Kyoko, you are officially a ninja."

It didn't come to much surprise for her since she'd done the clone Jutsu a dozen times. She pumped her fist into the air with pride with a large smile plastered on her face. Kyoko jumped to the front desk to grab her leaf village headband and tied it around her head.

"Thank you Iruka-sensei!" the girl yelled as she ran out of the testing room. She quickly scanned the crowd outside for her friends. When her eyes landed on Shikamaru, her childhood friend, and Hinata, she quickly ran over to them. Flaunting her headband as she walked past him, she said, "guess who's a ninja now."

"Gee, I could never guess," Shikamaru stuffed his hands in his pockets.

"Congratulations, Kyoko, you deserve it!" Hinata who was next in line said quietly.

"I bet you'll do an awesome job too!" Kyoko wished her luck as Hinata made her way to the testing room.

Kyoko got up early in the morning to get some extra training in before she could officially meet her team. Doing a couple of laps around her house and some push-ups here and there. Not before long, it was time to go back to the academy. Kyoko couldn't wait to see her other fellow classmates who passed the test.

When she got here, a couple of the students were already seated and waiting patiently. All of the girls were surrounding a desk so Kyoko went to see what all the fuss was about. Her eyes landed on Naruto glaring at Sasuke. Typical for the girls to be obsessing over Sasuke. He's cute and cool and all that, but Kyoko was never really interested in him. Even if she was, the competition was tough so the odds of Sasuke even noticing her were slim.

"What a drag," Shikamaru said his infamous phrase from beside Kyoko, "they're all obsessed with him. When will they notice that he's never gonna be into them."

"That's not fair, Shikamaru, they can't control their feelings," Kyoko defended.

"It can't be that hard," he shrugged her off and walked to his seat at the back of the room.

All of a sudden, there were gasps and shrieks coming from the girls' direction. When Kyoko turned to see what happened, her eyes landed on Naruto's lips on Sasuke's. As soon as they could process what had happened, they pulled apart and started gagging. Kyoko quickly slipped away before anything could escalate.

Iruka-Sensei finally made it to class and the room settled down. He congratulated all of them and proceeded to explain how they'd be put into groups of three plus a jounin level ninja. He added something about how the squads would be as balanced as possible. Iruka-Sensei finally started to tell them their squad number and who will be in it. Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke were put in squad seven which couldn't be good since Naruto and Sasuke never got along. Squad ten consisted of Ino, Choji and Shikamaru which bummed Kyoko out since she wanted to be with her good friend.

"Squad eleven: Kyoko Yuno, Hayate Kotaru and Asabu Kiyomo," Kyoko looked over to the two guys in her squad. Hayate Kotaru was one of the nicest people she's ever met. His eyes said it all. She talked to him every now and then so it's safe to say they're acquaintances, maybe even friends. Asabu Kiyomo, on the other hand, was quite different. He was very flirtatious and would hit on most girls around the village, even Kyoko.

"You will meet with your jounin teachers after lunch. Until then, class dismissed," Iruka-Sensei said.

Kyoko hopped out of her seat and made her way to Hinata who looked like she needed some comforting. "Hey Hinata, what's up? You look pale," Kyoko asked.

"Oh nothing really, I'm just a little nervous to meet my squad," Hinata fiddled with her fingers.

"There's nothing to worry about, Hinata, I'm sure you'll be fine!" Kyoko reassured the shy girl, "Shino and Kiba are nice guys, they'll make sure you feel welcomed."

"Okay then, if you say so," Kyoko was about to walk away until Hinata spoke again, "thank you for being so nice to me, Kyoko."

Kyoko was taken aback at first, hearing Hinata be so vocal with her wasn't a common occurrence even though they've been good friends for a while now. Kyoko even knew about Hinata's little crush on Naruto. "Of course, Hinata, that's what friends are for."
