Kyoko tried to grab Hiyori-Sensei's belt when suddenly, Hiyori disappeared leaving behind a puff of smoke.
"A clone!" Kyoko turned around expecting to see Asabu lying on the ground. To her surprise, it was Hiyori-Sensei instead. Before the sensei could grab her belt and take her out of the game, she swiftly leapt back to create some distance between them. The sensei was close to getting her belt which could've been terrible.
Kyoko needed reinforcements, but for all she knew, her teammates were far from hearing distance. She had to think about her next move fast. Hiyori-Sensei used a clone Jutsu against her just now and when a jounin does that Jutsu, they usually create more than one. It suddenly hit her that the Hiyori across from her was inevitably a clone.
Quickly, Kyoko did the body flicker technique which teleported her back to her original spot just in time because when she looked back, she saw Hiyori-Sensei standing exactly where she was a few moments ago. She quietly sighed and closed her eyes, letting her back rest on the tree. When she opened her eyes, Hiyori-Sensei was gone which alarmed her so she took out her kunai knife.
After a little while of nothing happening, she heard a faint yell from the eastern direction where Hayate said he'd be searching. Kyoko set her trail on where the noise had come from and ran there as fast as she could, maneuvering around other trees and branches. She heard talking not too far away. When she got there, she saw Hayate and Asabu facing each other talking.
"Asabu, what was your plan in transforming yourself to look like Hiyori-Sensei?" Hayate asked as politely as he could.
"Oh you know, so I could confuse the sensei and easily take her flag, I guess that's not happening now thanks to you," Asabu crossed his arms.
Kyoko was about to step up and say something before Hiyori-Sensei silently ran behind Asabu and snatched his belt.
"Hayate, watch out!" Kyoko said and she dashed forward to try and help him. It was too late. Hiyori-Sensei was just too fast and she tore off Hayate's belt as well. Kyoko took this as an opportunity to strike.
"Clone Jutsu!" Kyoko yelled as two clones flanked each side of her and dispersed to surround Hiyori-Sensei. While Hayate and Asabu were trying to distract by fighting her, Kyoko managed to grab Hiyori-Sensei's belt and the velcro ripped off.
"I got it! I got her belt!" Kyoko jumped up and down. Hayate smiled at that and Asabu just smirked.
"I think you're forgetting a little something," Hiyori-Sensei started. "I said only the people with their belts on by the end of this get to pass the survival test."
"What? You have to be kidding right?" Asabu complained.
"Yeah, they have every reason to pass just as I do!" Kyoko defended her teammates.
"Kyoko, it's okay. You passed fair and square, Asabu and I will just have to try again next time," Hayate said.
"That's not fair! If you guys didn't distract Yori-Sensei, I would've never gotten her belt. Yori-Sensei, you have to pass them, please!"
The three pleaded with determined eyes and sensei looked at the group. There was a thoughtful silence for a couple of moments while Hiyori-Sensei contemplated what she was going to do.
"I took Asabu and Hayate's belt, but on the other hand you three displayed a tremendous amount of teamwork, " Hiyori-Sensei said. "As of now, you all are genin," the eleventh squad all celebrated with big smiles on their faces. Kyoko was jumping around, Asabu had a chill smirk on his face and Hayate smiled a closed-eyed smile.
