Chapter Three

After a nice long night of relaxing with her best friend, Noelle was absolutely sure who she was going to be picking to play the male lead.

"Hey Jessica," she said as she entered Jessica's office the next morning.

Jessica looked up at Noelle and sent her a small wave while saying, "Noelle. How are you feeling today?"

"Um, pretty great. I took your advice and had same fun last night. I hung out with my best friend, so she could help me figure out who to pick."

"That's lovely to hear. So who did you choose?" Jessica asked curiously.

"It was a really tough call. I mean, all of them seemed great. But I ended up going with Ryan. I just felt like our chemistry really worked for the characters. He seems like such a nice and genuine person, and his character, Christian Holt, is so kind. And the way he helped me remember my lines in the audition room..."

Jessica smiled. "He is pretty great! Well, Ryan is going to be very happy to hear this news. We may have to stay on top of him though. He tends to show up late." Noelle chuckled at the thought of her first time meeting Ryan. "Let me call him and see what he's up to. Hopefully he'll be able to stop by."

Jessica pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed Ryan's number. "Ryan! Yeah, it's Jessica calling. Hey, Noelle and I loved your audition and we'd love to offer you the role... I had a feeling you might be excited! What? Now you... really need to schedule a workout? I'm confused."

"I get it," Noelle laughed, it was something Ryan had told her when they first met for the audition.

"Well, Ryan," Jessica continued, "any chance you could come into the office right now? I'd like to go over the shooting schedule with you two... Excellent! See you in a few minutes." Jessica hung up the phone and turned to Noelle. "He's on his way in right now. He said he was already in the area. That's a first with him," she laughed.

"Awesome."

A couple of minutes passed before Ryan showed up. "Hey guys! Great to see you both again," he smiled at the two ladies.

"Lovely to see you again, too," Noelle told him.

"Ryan! Hey there. Alright, so we start shooting tomorrow. We're looking at eight weeks of shooting total. It'll be five days a week, nine hours a day."

"That's awesome," Ryan said. "I'll still have time to do my volunteering. I was really worried that I was going to have to give that up. Those people there have come to sort of rely on me, you know?"

"For sure," Noelle said. "I think it's such a great thing that you're doing. How long have you been doing it?"

"Twelve years actually," Ryan told her.

Twelve years? That sure is a very long time. "Wow, I'm impressed. I mean, that's so incredibly long. No wonder you don't want to have to give that up."

"Yeah, I really love it. The people there kind of feel like family to me."

Jessica decided to let the two actors know that she, in fact, was still in the room with them. "Okay then, you two. So you guys each have a copy of the script. For today, you both can just go home and go over your scenes and lines. Sound good?"

"Yup, totally," Noelle agreed with the director.

"Yep, sounds good to me," Ryan said.

"Alright, well then, I'll see you guys later," Jessica said and after that she walked away, leaving Noelle and Ryan in her office on their own.
