Chapter 10

The next day, Ty called me again. He acted like nothing happened. Like all was fine. Like all of his worries were just gone. But I knew, that their not.
It all the same. As it had been.
" Hey Jaylen where are ya?" He asked.
He finally said my full name.
Right there I knew that something was off.
I said," In the car." He said,"where ya going?" I half smiled. "Just around." I said.
I could tell I was frustrating him. "Well where's around?" He asked in a cute way.
"Just ya know. In a place." I said nearly dyeing of laughter. But also trying to play cool.
"Well, meet me at The Forgotten Woods. And wear good outside clothing." He said finishing with,"I have to tell you something important." He said hanging up before I could say anything else.
I started going straight to my house. Truth be told I was only driving around to rock out to my playlist.
Once I got home, I put on a short sleeve pink shirt that said 'Love NY' surrounded in a blue heart. Then I put on short jean shorts with Track and Field shoes. Let's do this.
I texted him quick, to make sure he was on his way. Which he was, for he stated via text message.
I hopped in my car and started driving right to The Forgotten Woods. He was already there waiting for me. I was shocked, for he lived farther away than I do.
I stepped out my car, to here birds chirping, and I looked over and saw the summer trees rustling in the wind.
I looked back over at Ty, and the wind was blowing his hair back. I smiled, kinda being one of those girls that chases the 'pretty boys'.
"So, you ready to go?" He asked not asking me how I was doing or anything.
I smiled and said,"let's go." And he grabbed his little leather bag with a few water bottles and a bag of chips.
There was no trail to walk on, but there were signs reading 'walk here'. So we just followed the signs.
He and I started talking, and before we knew it, we were way off the trail. I couldn't see anything either. I got worried, but I trusted that Ty knew where he was going.
He looked over at me, not wearing his contacts, showing glossy dark brown eyes.
He stopped walking and he said, "Come here." Next to a huge tree. He climbed up first, then he put his hand out and let me come up to. Once we got to the perfect branch, he stopped and said,
"The thing I wanted to tell you is, uh."
