Witches Dont Work on Halloween

I sit and watch them practice for the performance tonight.
"Y/n you have to practice with them. It's a group performance." My manager says for the second time that day.
"No, witches don't work on Halloween, it's the one day a year we get to be ourselves and we don't work." I say looking up from my book.
"Okay but you're not a witches so head out of the book and come over here because I can't really practice spinning you if you're not here spinning." Ten says giving me a look.
"Wanna bet I'm not a witch?" I say looking at him with a smirk.
"Sure I'll do your shores at the dorm for the next month if you turn out to be a witch. But if not you have to do mine" he says. I look at my unit and smile. They let out a little laugh and shake their head.
"You don't know what you just got yourself into Ten" Jesus said, the eldest in my unit.
"What the worst she can do." Ten says. I get up from my spot on the couch and leave my book open. I go practice with the rest.
"Just wait until you see what happens when a witch is forced to work on Halloween." I say.
A few hours pass and we final get a break. I leave to get something to drink and come back to Chenle and Yanyan reading my book.
"What league is this?" Yangyang asked.
"Latin, most spells are made in Latin." I say looking at Ten. He rolls his eyes and keeps a talking to Johnny.
"Okay you guys can go change into your costumes. We'll film the dance vid and then head to the company party." One of our managers says
I go to my room and change into my witch outfit.
"You're really going to be a witch for Halloween?" Jesus asks walking into my room and watching me do my make up.
"Yeah, I have everything in hand and besides I only get to wear this stuff when I go home and that doesn't happen very often." I say
"So what are you going to do? I thought you didn't want them knowing you're a witch yet, it's a lot to take in. It took us a few months and we lived together and had time to talk it all out. We don't see them very often and after this Halloween party we leave until we get ready for tour." He says
"I changed his costume, the color that is, it's supposed to be blue and I turned it pink. Nothing to crazy. I'm not going to hurt him. He might be annoying at times but he is a great dance partner. " I say
"He won't believe you"
"When he comes out wearing it it'll be pink then I'll turn it blue once he a starts asking who did it. That way they'll see it was me." I say. I take my book and walk out with Jesus.
We walk to the dance room once more and I see them all frustrated talking to the stylist.
"It was blue when we got it. Maybe someone switch it. " she says. He looks at me as I'm laughing at him.
"You did this! You switched my costume color. This doesn't proof you're a witch. That just makes you mean." He says. He walks away trying to see if his blue dress is anywhere.
I wait for the rest to show up before I call out for him.
"Hey Ten. I know where the blue dress is" I say
"Where is it. We have to film soon" he says frustrated.
"You're wearing it. "I say
"Don't mess with me. This is pink." He says looking at his dress.
"I know. But now it isn't." I say. I open my book and looks for the bookmarked spell I did earlier that day. His dress changes back to blue as everyone watches it happen. He looks like he has seen a ghost. "I could have done worse, but like I said, WITCHES don't work on Halloween." I add smiling at him. He gulps and looks at the rest of the guys who have a similar face expression.
"What was that?" Mark asked.
"Illusion magic, if he would have taken a picture it would have been blue. But to the human eye in person it was pink. It very basic magic. Things we learn when we're little. The thing I'm supposed to be learning now are much worse. Or better depending on how you look at it. That's why I'm always reading my spell books. Since I can't get one on one train from my elder in the coven I read everything and the take the 'test' the elders give to proceed to the next level of craft when I go home." I explain.
"Not gonna lie. It's pretty cool" Johnny says
"It's also kinda dangerous. That why I hadn't told you guys. If even the slightest mispronunciation happens it can change the entire spell. I could show you guys more later." I say

We proceed to film the Halloween dance videos and go to the party. Later that week I showed them a few more spells and how to make some potions, after having to almost make then sign a contract saying they won't make any of this with out my supervision.
It took a few days for some of the guys to be okay with it, others like Yangyang Chenle and Jisung were fine the minute they saw it. Others like Jeno, Mark and Jaemin are still getting used to it.

Ps. Posting today because Witches don't work on Halloween. Except this witch she has to close the Starbucks she works at that night so I hope you guys have enjoyed my book thus far
