Hey! I decided to write a book and I have no clue how it's going to go butttt we'll see! Btw yes I'm Canadian🍁 so here it goes~

Jessica's POV:
"This is going to suck, why did you want to go again." I huffed, today's Canada Day and in our town it's a pretty big deal, except for the fact that during the day it consists of sitting at tables while watching old people talk.
"Jess you know why I want to go, can't you make a sacrifice, just for me? plus you know who will be there." my best friend Anna smirked at me. The only reason she wants to go there is hang out with her stupid boyfriend, which by the way I HATE, I know people say thats a strong word but thats why I use it for him. Anyways the only reason she wants me to go there is so I can get back together with my ex, James and I'll stop complaining about third wheeling for once.
"Fine whatever, but nothing's going to happen, okay?" all she did was smirk at me again knowing that something will definitely happen. Huffing I just stared out the window listening to Anna sing to Timber.
"We're hereeeeeee." I just glared and step out of her car. Not to brag or anything, but I looked pretty fabulous today. My light brown hair in loose curls and my makeup done to perfection, I'll thank Anna later. She is honestly the queen of makeup and hair, like if I was her I would use that skill to get a guy that wasn't such a jerk.
"Is that them?" I slightly whispered to her noticing the one may I say very attractive guy next to her boyfriend.
"Yupp, he's changed hasn't he?" Anna mumbled back to me considering our shortening distance between the guys.
"Wait thats James??" I stopped dead in my tracks, no way. That can't be him, if it is may I say that damn he's changed a lot, he's long shagged hair changed into a sharp quiff, and that jaw line could cut a carrot in half.
Before I could process what was happening I got a quick "yes, now let's go." and got drug to the two males.
"Hey Jessica!" Luke, Anna's boyfriend grinned.
"Luke." I glared and looked away. I know you think I'm a complete jerk, but believe me I have my reasons. Anna has tried countless times to convince me to not hate him but what can I say there's something not right about that kid.
"Jessica, don't start." Anna have me a motherly look and went right back to grinning with Luke's arm around her.
"Jess, you look a lot different from the last time I saw you." Omg, his voice, someone catch me. Like its just deep and ugh, why did I dump him in the first place, I guess he wasn't as hot as he is now.
"Umm are you okay." that same voice that got me distracted snapped me back to reality.
"Yeah sorry, yeah you do too." The tension was so high you could cut it with a knife. Thank god Anna noticed it too and finally broke it.
"Well can we go to your place and watch movies until the fireworks?" she said looking at James, wait he moved back? Maybe we could get back together.....
"Yeah sure, just leave your car here we can walk it's not too far away." With that sentence we all just automatically started following him to who knows where.
"I thought you said it was close." Luke complained, one reason to hate him he's very annoying, like more than the average person does he complain. As if someone gave him a miracle we arrived at his house.
"I'm hoooome." James shouted, but with no response. Hmm thats weird you would think that at least one of his family members would be here at this time of day. Leading us to the basement Anna and Luke jumped on the big couch and were already cuddled together with a large blanket, greaaaat.
"I'm going to make popcorn, here Jess take the remote and go through my Netflix." James smiled at me tossing the remote and swiftly jogging up the stairs. Switching threw all the movies, I realized that I had no clue what anyone wanted to watch.
"Hey guys, what kind of movie do you want to watch?" not even bothering to look over to them, still switching threw the what it seemed like endless movies. After I few seconds I got no response.
"Guys wh-." my sentence quickly stopped when I looked over and noticed that they were, like usual making out. Now normally it would annoy me, but I'm so used to it I just looked away and continued looking for a movie.
"Scary movie it is then." mumbling I decided on Insidious. I looked over again and saw they were still going at it... So I got an idea. Smirking to myself I lent over and grabbed the blow horn that was oddly on the table beside me, crept behind the couch where the two 'lovebirds' where still on there so called activity. Slightly standing up I put the horn as close as I could to them without them noticing and pressed the button.

I even slightly jumped from the loud noise, but those two I swear jumped 10 feet in the air! It was priceless, I bursted out laughing rolling on the floor. I couldn't help myself, sadly I was unaware that James had heard the loud noise to and ran down the stairs to see me red faced killing myself of laughter. Sobering up a little I looked up to see Anna and Luke glaring at me and surprisingly James chuckling at the scene in front of him.
"Well we should watch the movie shouldn't we?" I said slightly coughing to cover up my giggles that were trying to come out.
"Your sharing a couch with James, I'm not sharing." Anna pointed out knowing her plans I just smirked at her and sat down beside James, who now happily had a bowl of popcorn. He lent over and grabbed a blanket and threw it over himself, as well as me too. Clicking play, the movie started.
To be honest I was enjoying the movie, although it was a little weird being this close to James again, but I didn't mind it. My hands started to get cold so I put them under the blanket and continued to enjoy the film.
About halfway threw the movie I felt something touch my hand quickly, knowing it was James hand I pulled it away slightly. Then he grabbed my hand underneath the blanket and just smirked at me. I just let it happen, looking over at Anna and Luke they luckily didn't notice James actions underneath the warm material, so I just went back to watching the movie. Although I couldn't help feel a spark of happiness him holding my hand. From there the movie seemed to end in an instant.
"I think I hear fireworks." Anna spoke up. Standing from my seat I looked out the window and noticed that it was already dark out, well that went by fast.
Everyone quickly ran up the stairs, grabbing our jackets and started walking down the empty road, the street lights glowing down on us. It felt like a movie, 4 teenagers walking down the silent highway, fireworks cracking in the sky. Looking up to James I realized I want him back.

AN: well if anyone actually starts reading my book, I will update it when it gets... hmm lets shoot for 3 reads
