Just then there was a knock on the door. He was almost startled at the sound of it . The diary dropped onto the bag below. Before he could pick it up..
Sir aapki coffee.Madam 15 minute mein aa jaayegi .His coffee had arrived.
He nods. He did not want to read anything else . All he knew was that he had to fix the mess that had happened over the last 18 hours real soon.
20 minutes later . .
Sonakshi enters. She was extremely surprised looking at Rohit in his hoodie.
Sonakshi : Main diye hue gifts return nahi karti .
He smiles .
Rohit : Acchaa ? .... Gift ke saath dene waale ko bhi kabhi nahi return karna chaahiye ! looks at her and smirks.
She chooses to ignore him knowing very well what he was hinting at .Seeing his coffee still on the table. .
Sonakshi : Coffee thandi ho gayi hai . You didnt drink ? Wait let me get you another one .
Just than the spot boy enters . Ek aur coffee please leke aao aur mere liye ek green tea please.
Yes madam . Do minute.
She comes and sits next to Rohit . He looked more shattered than when he left him .
Sonakshi : All ok ? he nods looking down
Sonakshi : Kya hua ? in a soft tone Raima Thik hai ?
She slowly moves her hand on his assuring him that she is there . He did not look emotionally comfortable and that got her a little worried .
Rohit : Kuch nahi . Raima thik hai . He was lost in thought for a few seconds . Kabhi kabhi jab realise hota hai tum kitne kharab insaan ho , apne hi nazron mein insaan itna gir jaata hai .
Looks up at her in pain . . Pata nahi tumne mujhme kya dekha Sonakshi ?
Sonakshi smiling while pressing his hand tighter : Wahi jo tumne mujhme dekha.
Rohit : kya ?
Sonakshi : Dher saara pyaar,looking at him lovingly she continues : ek bacche ka dil aur .. aur
Rohit : Aur kya ? looking at her
Sonakshi : Aur ek khadooos Dr. Surgeon .. and she lets out a loud laugh .
She hadn't smiled in sometime now and seeing her like this was like a breath of fresh air for Rohit. He smiles .
She takes his hand into hers intertwining their fingers , an art she had learnt very well from Rohit She then lifts his hand closer to her lips and kisses it .
A lone tear drops from his eyes .
Sonakshi : soft tone Rohit !!
She moves closer to him , lifts her hand and holds it on his chest gain .
Duniya bhar ke logo ka heart thik karte ho,par isko ( touching his chest) sambaalna sirf mera kaam hai , hai naa?...... he smiles ........ Mujhe meri cheezo ka khayaal koyi nahi rakhe , ye bilkul pasand nahi. In my absence I need you to take care of this . It belongs to me, you see. She smiles with so much pride .
Rohit finally smiles in relief : Ye kaun bola, Parvathi yaa Sonakshi ? smirking
Sonakshi : Tumhaari sona ...... giving out a laugh once again.
Rohit hadn't heard her open up since the last 18 hours . He had not allowed her to . Though the thought of the diary haunted him every second since he saw it ,this brought so much peace to his soul . He pulls her closer to him into a bone crushing side hug yet again one more time.
A few seconds later . .
Sonakshi : Rohit . . ab suno.. looking at him intensely .....us raat kya hua tha.
Rohit nods just for her sake.
It was a long 15-20 minutes of conversation in which Sonakshi narrated every single detail of that unfortunate night. In between pain , tears and a chocking sensation that engulfed her every now and then she went around explaining the turn of events on that day and how helpless she felt . Rohit for once was a quiet listener who comforted her on and off with side hugs , head caresses and hand holds . Finally Sonakshi paused in tears which rolled down her soft cheeks non stop.
Rohit : shhhhhhh Sona .... Bas aur nahi . Pulling her close he tries to comfort her by wiping her tears . He lifts her chin so that their eyes meet: Iss sab se mujhe kuch pharak nahi padta . I dont have any doubts on you Sona. I never had .
Sonakshi : But you should know Rohit .
Rohit : Why ? . . Why is it so necessary ?
Sonakshi : Because when there are loopholes of communication between partners , koi teesra iska fayda zarror utha leta hai. And I never want that happening between us .
Rohit : I understand . I have to tell you something . .
Just then the phone rings with Ajit panicking for Rohit to get back .
Rohit : Mujhe chalnaa chahiye. Some problem with Raima at home . I want to sort a few things there also . After a brief silence he looks at her : Shyaam ko aau ?? ...milne?
Sonakshi : ....smiles ..... 7 baje shoot khatam hoga .I will wait .
Rohit comes close to pull her once again into a the tightest hug of the day .
Rohit : Maine thodi galatiyaan ki hai . I will fix them and be back . As she looks up at him still in the hug .. he gives her a peck on her forehead. I love you . . Ok ?
She nods .
One hour later Sippy house . .
Raima was hyper ventilating . Tulsi and Dr. Dimpy were in constant conversation with Rohit while he was driving back to stabilize the situation. An hour and a half later when he reaches Sippy Mansion.
Rohit rushes to his bedroom and literally jumps next to Raima. She was calm . They had handled the situation.
Rohit : Touching her forehead ....Are you ok ?
She holds his hand and slowly tucks her head into his chest making him highly uncomfortable . He moves back trying to move her away as the entire Sippy clan stares at him .
Yk signals him to come and talk to him. He mentions that his mother has opened her mouth about him and Sonakshi. Rohit looks at her annoyingly.
A few minutes later . .
Rohit : Raima , I think lets move to the hospital . There is a possibility of complete care and attention there . Also I spend most of my time there so I can watch over you and the other patients also.
Raima : But ...
Rohit : placing a finger on her lips ....Dont you trust me? ....She nods . Tulsi arrange for the shift . I will just be back .
He goes to the guest room to shower and as he comes out he calls Ravi asking him for some arrangements to be made . Soon after that calls get exchanged between Ravi , Sunita and Shankar . They had 7 hours to make all the arrangements .
In the meanwhile Rohit asks his family to meet him at the lunch table .
