he's dead. is this good? bad? dappleface tucked her kits closer to her side.
no. this was definitely good — a relief. snow lightly fell. it seemed
like the storm calmed once his body lay limp. they'll just... never know who he was. she blinked away unwanted tears. hatred was one thing, but he was the father of three of her kits.
with one swift movement she stood up, beckoning for her kits to follow her. " come, little ones. it will be safer in the nursery. " away from all the doomed cats, dappleface added in her head. " ivyclaw and mistcry will be happy to see you! "
little excited gasps filled the breeze behind her. dappleface shivered, snaking snow off of her pelt.
they walked through camp with their heads held low, all walking in a line. " dappleface are you alr—" rainheart mewed, "yes, i'm fine," she paused, "oakpelt is better off dead. he is no longer a threat, yeah?" dappleface smiled and nodded at rainheart. "i'll come speak to you in a moment," the she-cat whispered.
"alright, you three, into the nursery." dappleface smiled. they quickly padded inside the den.
" you're glad their dead, yeah?" rainheart asked. "yeah," dappleface answered.. almost relieved. " you do realize that oakpelt and fincheye probably went to the dark forest, right?" dappleface could tell that rainheart was worried. "they won't hurt anyone in the clan there. relax, rainheart."but dappleface knew all to well what oakpelt would do in the dark forest.
but there isn't much she could say without spreading panic.♔
