[Mona's P.O.V]

          "Sophia!"

An unfamiliar voice cried out the name over and over, but Izzy and I didn't bother looking back. It wasn’t like he was calling any of us, anyway.

           “Sophia!”

"Izzy, there's some psycho screaming 'Sophia' repeatedly," I whispered, trying hard not to laugh.

Izzy looked at me funnily and grinned. "I know...Just ignore it." She chuckled softly.

I nodded and grabbed her arm, dragging her across the zebra walk. However, I could hear the same voice growing nearer. It was as if the person itself was standing behind us...

"Sophia!" This time, both Izzy and I turned around in confusion. Who was that guy?

He stopped and stared at Izzy with such love, such intensity that it scared me. Why was he staring at her like that? I studied his face which showed restlessness, worry, hurt, regret and every other painful emotion.

But me; I didn't believe in love. I knew that all these relationships were retarded and were made for fun, that there was no such thing as love. Then why were his eyes making me believe that maybe there was something like that? That maybe he was in love… But why was he staring at Izzy like that?

I looked from Izzy to the brown haired boy as I examined their expressions. This boy looked like an absolute mess. His eyes were red and puffy and tears escaped his eyes as if he'd been crying for, for...years. His hair was swept to the side and his smile was a painful yet a beautiful. It sent chills through me. The way his eyes shined due to the tears; it felt like I was feeling his pain.

Suddenly, the realization hit me. I knew something horrible was going to happen; the moment I saw the signals turn green.... The boy was still in the middle of the zebra walk!

My eyes grew wide and I opened my mouth to scream but Izzy had already beaten me to it.

"Oh My God... Watch out," she shrieked, but it was too late...

A car zoomed in full speed, hitting the brown haired boy with such force! He went flying into the air and hit the ground seconds later. I heard a painful 'crack' and a few sobs that wrenched my heart. Izzy didn't think twice before she ran over to the boy, not caring about the people pushing us about. I chased her and watched as she crouched down next to his almost lifeless body.

"S...Sophia," he kept murmuring. Izzy shut her eyes closed and gripped the boys hand tightly. He was bleeding and a few tears escaped my eyes at the sight of him. My insides shivered as I felt his pain. The way blood drained out from every inch of his body, the way tears leaked out of his eyes, the way he kept murmuring her name in unconsciousness, the way his mouth formed a faint smile at the touch of Izzy’s hand; it frightened me.

"You're going to be okay," Izzy said, and she tried hard to not break down right then, like me. The boy clutched on to Izzy even tighter and I had a feeling he was losing his senses. He slowly loosened his grip around Izzy's hand and her eyes widened. She shook her head violently, protesting.

"No, no," Izzy shook. "Stay with us!"

"Izzy..." I whimpered. "Help is coming." I tried comforting her but she simply shrugged me off, starting to break down as well.
