*Let's backtrack a bit. This happens before Enya takes the tablet to Luce.*
"Have you picked up your book yet?"
"Ugh no. Come with me to get it. The demon in the library is gross and keeps staring at me when I walk by."
"All of its eyes or like just two or three?"
"All of them. It's not even trying to hide it."
"Hey, 897! Come eat with us!"
"Can't. Gotta go."
"Man, 4 is such a bitch to work with. You have no idea."
"I hear she's the worst reaper to end up with."
"Sucks for you. We get to work with 8 tomorrow on earth."
The reapers in training are scattered about the courtyard near the training grounds. It's a similar atmosphere to a school cafeteria or college campus during its busiest time of day. The reapers congregate here mostly when they have nothing else to do since they aren't allowed out of campus until the weekend. They spend that time exploring the rest of hell. And if they aren't back by Monday morning, the hellhounds get to hunt them down and drag them into the pit to spend the day as a regular damned.
For a new reaper, they are to get settled into a dorm room occupied by at least five other reapers to which will become their training group until they become full, fledge reapers.
"I can't believe he's making us do this all over again."
"You're lucky that's all you have to do. My dorm is stuck running laps for the next two weeks because fucking Heels pranked our mentor."
"Does he not realize he's in hell? We might be reapers but they can turn us into damned real quick."
It's break time now for most so the crowd was collecting their food, discussing their new lives, gossiping about the latest news and new souls to pass through. I'm sure you can guess what the latest gossip was about.
"Did you hear? Satan as a new play toy."
"I hear its an innocent."
"No no. It's for sure a fallen angel. If it were an innocent, heaven would be on our case."
"Idiot. It's not an angel. Angels don't come down here anymore. Its a soul."
"So it's an innocent? Or is it just someone he picked up?"
"It has nothing to do with Lucifer. A high leveled reaper picked it up. I was told it was an accident but he was too scared to admit it."
"How embarrassing. How do you accidentally pick up an innocent? Especially being a high leveled reaper."
"I'm pretty sure Lucifer is involved. He's taking care of it I think."
"How would you know. You haven't left the grounds for two months."
The courtyard becomes louder with speculations on the new soul that has shaken up hell. Everyone had their own theories and stories of what they heard from their mentors and reapers. The guard surrounding the place didn't care how rowdy they got and were even curious themselves about the soul.
One young reaper climbs onto a table in the middle of the courtyard and calls for everyone to listen to him. It wasn't the first time he's done this and it surely won't be his last. He's known as the king of rumors and was very much a reliable source of information since he was lucky enough to end up with a single digit reaper who so happens to be friends with 15.
"I've seen her!" He yells over the crowd. "I've seen the innocent soul!" People jump from their tables to rush over, asking him questions he couldn't make out due to the amount who have ambushed him. "Quite and I'll tell you all I know!" It doesn't take long for them to hush. "Now.. doing an errand for my senior reaper, as you all know, is a wonderful, single diget~"
