Tell Me A Lie

Chapter 4

 Next Day

    I woke up next to Adam. He was still asleep and I was in his shirt. I smiled down at him and it hit me when I was looking at him what happened last night. In the yard.

     Flashback

I chased after Jake. "Jake. Please stop!" He turned sharply and we were in the yard. "What do you want? Do you want to kiss him again right in front of me so I have to run home or I'll beat the shit out of him? DO YOU!" I looked at the ground then looked back up at him. "Sorry I wasn't the only one who lied." He laughed and leaned over. "I did that to protect your relationship. I didn't think you would do that!" I came closer and slapped him. "I can do things for myself." His eyes got big and looked like he was holding in a laugh. "Really then why did you call me? Out of everyone!" I was speechless then I found words. "Okay fine I guess I do need help there and there but I knew you would be here. Your always there." I said it under my breath but he could hear me. He pulled me into a tight embrace. My head was on his warm chest. His breath smelled like peppermint. I pushed off and went back inside. It was too close of a call.

    A giant frown crossed my face. I bit my lip and held my head. I looked at my leg which was all wrapped up. I closed my eyes and flung back down on the bed. I couldn't be beat like this for much longer but what was I suppose to do the cops loved my dad. They let him get away with murder and they don't like me so it just says who's side they're going to be on. I felt Adam get up. I opened one eye and I saw his sexy body tighten and stretch. "Good morning." He turned and smiled. He kissed my head. "How's your leg?" I shrugged but the truth was it was on fire. I sat up again and stretched. "We have school." I opened my eyes huge and stood up real fast and ran to Tommy's room. He was asleep with Lexi. I leaned against the door frame. Adam came up behind me. "I went and got him and told Lexi to go sleep with him. Don't worry. But we should get him up." I signed and walked in his room. I shook him a little and said wake up. He rolled over of his bed and got up. 

        School

             "Love ya!" I kissed Adam on the cheek and separated. Last night was rough so it was rough. I walked to my locker with a limp. On the way to class I almost fell but Jake caught me. "Thanks." I looked over and saw him. "No problem." When we got in the classroom all eyes were on us. I saw Adam's jaw clench. I walked over to my seat and I saw the popular kids looking and gossiping. I rolled my eyes and turned to Adam. "He was just helping, don't worry." He rolled his eyes at me and rolled his head "He helps you too much. I think he needs to learn to back off." 

   "Adam he's been my friend for a long time." He cut me off  "But he has feelings!" I slammed his hand on his desk. "Adam!" All eyes were on us. Even the teacher put down her book to look. "Miss.Sky can I step in the hallway?" She nodded and her mouth seemed to drop to the ground.  I leaned back in my chair and glanced over at some of my friends and they were all fighting all I heard was "They're totally breaking up."   "No Kathy wouldn't...."    "I didn't say it was going to be her." I stopped listening. "Miss.Sky may I?"  She did a little nod and stood up. "Class open your books and read!" 

           I stepped into the hallway to see Adam just leaning his head against the wall holding himself up with his arms. "Adam?" He shook his head. "Damn it Adam I can't do all the talking. I don't understand why your fucking upset!" He turned to me and his eyes were puffy and watery. "I'm loosing you. I'm not mad. I'm sad. Fine difference." I felt bad. I rubbed his back right before he slapped it away. "I saw you two. In the hospital. I saw you in the yard. I don't know if I can do it." He started shaking his head. I grabbed his face and looked him in the eyes. "I love you more than anyone. I don't want him as much as I want you." But was that even true? I didn't know myself. I was confused? Maybe. I looked behind Adam to see Jake just watching us. He blinked a small tear fell on his cheek. I pulled Adam for a hug and closed my eyes. I opened my eyes and Jake wasn't there. I held Adam's hand and dried his eyes. Was he that worried to lose me? I felt more guilt than before. Was I lying about Jake? No I couldn't of. Could I? 

  Gym

      I was in short shorts and a tight t-shirt. I had bright tennis shoes and I looked good with my hair in a ponytail. No one asked about my leg sure I got looks but nothing else. Warm up was a jog. I was jogging alone since Adam was sent to the office for today in class. I heard someone run right next to me though. I looked over to see Jake. "Oh I was just thinking about you." Did I really let those words fall out of my mouth? "That's funny cause I need to ask you something." I rouse my eyebrows to show he could carry on. "Why would you never think about being with me?" The words caught me. "I have a great boyfriend, we're friends, and plus remember in 7th and 8th I asked you out and you said no because we are friends and you didn't want to ruin anything." He smiled and looked down. "You remembered that?"     "Duh! I got rejected of chorus I will!" I pushed him a little and he picked me up and twirled me a little bridal style and it was like we were the only ones. I looked into his eyes and remembered I couldn't. I jumped out of his arms which wasn't good for my leg at all. I felt my leg rip open the skin again. 

               "Aw Fuck!" I was the loudest thing in the gym and I fell cause I couldn't support myself. He helped me over to the stage. "Once again thanks." He nodded and got back to gym as I watched Adam walk right towards Jake. They're friends must just be catching up right? Nope. I saw his fist go flying and then a fight broke out. "JAKE STOP! ADAM DON'T!" I wobbled over and pushed through the crowd. "She's mine! You can't take her not again!"     "She's always been mine!"  I was someones idem? I don't think so!
