I wake up in a cold sweat. I was sitting in my room. Alone.
"Just me," I say, "No one else."
Then I hear this loud ass knock. It's more like banging more than anything, but honestly who cares. Then I go to open the door.
I stop. This weird feeling of dread fills my body. My hand is practically at the door. Why am I stopping?
I open the door finally and this blast of words come out.
"LUCY JULIE WOLFWERE! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO MEET ME AT THE CAFÉ AN HOUR AGO!"
Elizabeth Cyclo, my best friend. She is at the moment screaming at the top of her lungs about how I'm always late and that I can't ever have anything done.
"I'm going to change, MOM," I say jokingly as I walk away, leaving her at the front door of this small apartment.
