Gazef peeks from a window seeing multiple mages in robes with angels surround the edge of the village "You're right, there are people." He confirms.

"They've surrounded the village in equally spaced intervals." The soldier reports.

"Who are they exactly?" Ains asks.

"Only the Slane Theocracy could send out this many magic casters at once and they're part of the special ops unit directly under the Head Priest. It must be one of the six scriptures."

"I see so they are the ones who attack the village correct?" Stitches concluded earning a nod from Gazef.

"They were dressed as soldiers from the Empire, but it looks like they were actually from the Slane Theocracy."

'As I thought.' Ains sighs before speaking "Does this village hold that much value?"

"That is highly unlikely, after getting the girls I took the liberty to search for any value... But considering you've been told to investigate this issue. It's clear to see that their objective is to kill you..." Stitches comments, leaving the Head Warrior speechless.

"It looks like you are quite despised, Head Warrior."

"It is as you say Madam Stitches... To think that even the Slane Theocracy is after me..."

'But that's an Archangel Flame, right? Why is a monster from Yggdrasil here?'

'Perhaps there are other familiar things from Yggdrasil in this world.'

"Sir Gown. Madam Stitches. I'd like to hire both of you if possible. I will be sure to reward you if that is what you wish."

"We decline" Ains answers firmly.

"I see." Gazef smiles looking at the two "Then, please take care, Sir Gown. Madam Stitches. Thank you again for saving this village." Gazef held Ains hand placing his other on top. "I am really, truly grateful. I know this a selfish request, but please protect them once more. I have nothing to give you both at this moment, but I beg of you. I beg-" Gazef begins to kneel until Ains places his hand on the warrior' shoulder stopping him.

"There is no need for you to go far. We understand Stitches and I will be sure to protect the villagers. I will put my name, Ains Ooal Gown, on the line" Ains promises.

Stitches steps off Ains' shoulder standing on his arm ruffling Gazef hair "I shall do everything in my power to hold this promise." She climbed back on Ains shoulder taking her seat.

Gazef stands smiling "Then, I will have nothing to worry about. I will focus on the enemy before me!"

Stitches reached into her inventory pulling out a wooden statue carving, handing it to Ains. The skeleton presents it to Gazef "Then, please take this."

"A gift from one such as you?" Gazef took the statue "I will accept it gratefully." He places the gift in a pouch attached to his belt. Gazef bows his head at the two "Good-bye"

"I wish you luck in battle," Ains said.

"Gazef this is no Good-bye, but a see you later"

Gazef smiles nodding in determination "Yes mam." He leaves the building.

The trio watch as the soldiers leave the village "When I first met the humans here, I saw them no more than insects. But I grow fond as I converse with them, coming to see them as small animals."

"As do I Ains, as do I" Stitches grinned under her mask.

"Is that why you went as far as promising with your great name?"
