The Top Student

Chapter One

Masaya ako habang paakyat ng entablado at kinukuha ang medalya ko. Taas noo ako dahil ngayong 1st year highschool ay ako ang valedictorian ng klase namin. It's not a new feeling for me actually. I was and will always be the highest of every class at every grade.

I just did my make up simple. Yup I know how to do make up because I watch make tutorials on YouTube a lot. Though nagtatanong rin ako sa make up artist ni mama kung pano ito gawin.

So what I did is simple put some powder at naglagay ng mascara that enhance the beauty of my almond eyes. I put a light pink shade of lipstick in my lips which has the shape of cupid's bow. I also contoured a little bit na mas nagpaganda sa aking high cheekbones.

"What do you want to have baby? You're the top one again.Continue what you're at magkakaroon ka ng mas magandang kinabukasan." Sabi ni Mama Liz while we were walking out the stage.

We really didn't finish the ceremony because I know mommy has limited time and I was hoping we could bond today even just for a short amount of time.

"I don't actually want to buy things right now. I just want to go out with you and dad, mommy." I told my her.

"Baby I would love to but you know that I'm busy. Siniksik ko lang sa schedule ko ang pagpunta here in your ceremony."

"We didn't go out on my graduation last year and you also told me on that day na next year nalang sa recognition ko. Why not now mom? Again?" Sadness is in my voice.

''You know naman baby that your dad needs me in the office, right? Lalo pa ngayon na we have a lot of investors."

Our business which is a food brand is the top food brand here in the country. Every dish that we sell is always the loved by the people. There are different kind of foods we sell.

"But mom? Can't we really go out today? It's all I want." Pagmamaka-awa ko.

"I'm really sorry baby. Promise if me and your daddy have time we'll go out." Pangungumbinsi niya. "Mang Leo sa company building niyo ako ihatid." Sabi niya sa driver namin.

"Mom please?" I begged.

"I'm really sorry baby? Wala ba kayong gala ng mga kaibigan mo? Ask your cousin, Jasmine, to go with you."

I didn't answer and just waited for my mom to go out as the car stopped in front of the building. Shouldn't I be happy right now? I don't know what to feel. And that's how my recognition day ended.

Vacation was so boring. I was only shopping and spending my time with my friends coming over. I want to go out and travel to other places. Me and my cousins did go to boracay tho. But I want to travel more like going to other countries.

So today ang first day ng 2nd year highschool ko. Finally may pasok ulit. Learning is my way of entertaining myself. I also love reading novels. But it isn't enough to ease my boredom. Hayss.

So today I'm now a 2nd year high-school student. Let's see how this year would go. Well I expect being on top cause you know, it ain't new to me. I guess I'll just get my knowledge grow more? Okay.
